Can y’all guess who was offended, triggered, butthurt, and so on…..

If y’all guessed NFL refs, you are WRONGGG!

Jerry Jones is facing a possible fine for his Halloween costume, after the Dallas Cowboys owner dressed up as an NFL referee who is implied to be blind.

National Federation of the Blind Director of Public Relations Chris Danielsen told PEOPLE on Thursday that the costume “plays on the stereotype that blind people are generally incompetent because of our lack of eyesight.”

Honestly, I doubt anyone besides this idiot thinks that.

Added Danielsen, “That general stereotype, in turn, limits our opportunities for employment and for participation in society. This is not just an issue of a perceived problem; statistics routinely verify that blind people have an unemployment rate of between 60 and 70%. This is not because we are unemployable, but because too many employers still internalize low expectations and stereotypes about us.”

OH good grief!

First punter to make the Hall of Fame

Ray Guy, the celebrated Raider who became the first pure punter enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, has died. He was 72.

The Hall of Fame shared the news of Guy’s passing on Thursday, saying he died following a lengthy illness.

An accomplished college player, Guy was the first punter selected in the first round of an NFL Draft, taken by the then-Oakland Raiders in 1973.

He played his entire 14-year career with the Raiders and averaged 42.4 yards per punt over that span.

He led the league in punting in three of his seasons and finished second three times. He was named to seven Pro Bowls, made the All-Pro team six times, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.

“With wife Linda at his side, it is with much sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Len Dawson. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. The NFL should really stick to football, and ignore activism

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 32 Second

Over at The Outkick, Armando Salguero has an excellent column about the NFL, forgetting what their lane is. Hint- it is FOOTBALL, not activism.

This is, however, a takedown of the NFL and its teams celebrating the lifestyle. And doing so without equal acceptance to the other side — many of whom happen to be NFL fans, also.

Consider that I could not find the last time the NFL’s social media account or an NFL media release promoted the traditional family that includes a married mother and father and their children.

Consider what happened on April 17. The NFL tweeted about players who impressed at the NFL combine. It tweeted about the excellence of Ohio State receivers Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. It tweeted mock draft projections.

All these tweets came on a day 63 percent of the people in America who classify themselves as Christians were marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter or Resurrection Sunday.

Did the NFL mention this on its social media? Celebrate it?

Look, this is basic common sense. The NFL is a business, a business that has, for decades entertained tens of millions of football fans. Note, I did not denote anything about the religious/political/ideological/ beliefs of those fans. Why? Because football is about politics religion ideology FOOTBALL! That is it! No, don’t give me the NFL should “take a side” on abortion, gun control, politics, etc. They really should stay out of it. Leave those things aside for several reasons. First, a lot of your fans do care about such things. But, they hear enough Monday through Saturday. They do not sit down to watch a game and think YES! Let’s hear about politics! Hell no. They want to watch football………THAT IS IT! The NFL should accept this truth. Go read the column, good stuff
