How far down the slippery slope of “woke” craziness have we slid? Well, California is evidently ready to mandate insurance coverage for gay men hiring women to be surrogate babymakers:

California lawmakers are advancing a bill that would redefine the inability of men to get pregnant as “infertility” and entitle them to insurance-covered fertility treatments.
The legislation, which passed in the Senate late last month and is about to be taken up by the Assembly, would require employer-sponsored insurance plans to cover all nonexperimental fertility treatments, including artificial insemination of pregnancy surrogates. Supporters of the legislation have touted it as an overdue step toward “fertility equality” for LGBT people.
Freshman state senator Caroline Menjivar (D.), who coauthored the bill with Assemblywoman Buffy Wicks (D.), said: “It will ensure that queer couples no longer have to pay more out of pocket to start families than non-queer families. … This bill is critical to achieving full-lived equality for LGBTQ+ people, as well as advancing well-rounded and comprehensive health care for all Californians.”

There are no words folks, none! Well, except to remind y’all that it is no longer possible to parody the Left!!

Make no mistake the State wants to erase parents

A recently amended California bill would add “affirming” the sexual transition of a child to the state’s standard for parental responsibility and child welfare—making any parent who doesn’t affirm transgenderism for their child guilty of abuse under California state law.

AB 957 passed California’s State Assembly on May 3, but a co-sponsor amended it after hours in California’s State Senate on June 6. 

Assembly Member Lori Wilson, D-Suisun City, wrote the bill and introduced it on Feb. 14. State Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, co-sponsored it. Wilson’s child identifies as transgender.

Originally, AB 957 required courts to consider whether a child’s parents were “gender-affirming” in custody cases. Wiener’s amendment completely rewrites California’s standard of child care.

AB 957 post-amendment “would include a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity as part of the health, safety, and welfare of the child,” altering the definition and application of the entire California Family Code.

California courts would be given complete authority under Section 3011 of California’s Family Code to remove a child from his or her parents’ home if parents disapprove of LGBTQ+ ideology.

There it is my friends, make no mistake, your rights as a parent or guardian are in their cross hairs. VOTE accordingly.

It’s time once again, gentle readers, to visit the latest Twitter Files. Apparently, circa May, 2023, Matt Taibbi is no longer doing that work, which appears to have somewhat slowed the production of new releases, but today we’ll deal with updates 19, 20 and 21. Update 19 may be accessed here.

The thrust of this release is “The Virality Project,” a joint endeavor of academia, big pharma, various NGOs and government to suppress the truth about the various Covid vaccines, which weren’t vaccines at all, and their horrific side effects.  Legal Insurrection explains:

In reality, the Virality Project was in a public-private partnership in the form of a censorship machine.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, whose lawsuit is shattering Biden administration coverups, described the program: Federal health officials in the Surgeon General’s Office, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Health and Human Services collaborated in a ‘censorship enterprise called the Virality Project, which procures the censorship of enormous quantities of First Amendment-protected speech.’

Disinformation warriors worked overtime to suppress ‘false’ claims about the side effects of COVID vaccine, especially the true claims. Since the Food and Drug Administration officially (and speedily) approved COVID vaccines, any reports of side effects were automatically disinformation.

The Virality Project recommended that social-media companies suppress ‘stories of true vaccine side effects’ and ‘true posts which could fuel [vaccine] hesitancy.’ The project ‘routinely framed real testimonials about [vaccine] side effects as misinformation, from ‘true stories’ of blood clots from AstraZeneca vaccines to a New York Times story about vaccine recipients who contracted the blood disorder thrombocytopenia.’

Steve Dettelbach, the man President Biden chose to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), followed in the footsteps of other Biden administration officials who have been stumped by seemingly straightforward questions from lawmakers, questions that deal with subjects within what is supposed to be their purview. 

On Tuesday, Director Dettelbach was asked by Rep. Jake Ellzey (R-TX) to give a brief, 15-second definition of the term “assault weapon,” the thing President Biden and Democrats have demanded must be banned within the United States in order to reduce the frequency of crimes committed by individuals with guns. Dettelbach, however, came up completely empty during his testimony in the House Appropriations Committee’s hearing focused on the ATF’s FY2024 budget.

“I’ll go shorter than that because I, honestly, if Congress wishes to take that up, I think Congress would have to do the work, but we would be there to provide technical assistance,” Dettelbach told Ellzey. Huh? So, the man in charge of ATF doesn’t even have a guess when it comes to defining a firearm type that is mentioned and demonized almost daily by the White House?

An Ivy League school has defied the woke activists who have been terrorizing conservatives into silence on college campuses across America for years and announced that “free expression” will be its featured theme next academic year.

On Monday, Cornell University, located in Ithaca, New York, announced that it had adopted “free expression” as its guiding theme for the 2023-24 academic year. “Free expression and academic freedom have always been core parts of Cornell’s institutional identity and essential to its founding,” the announcement stated. In order to facilitate more dialogue about the importance of free speech and peacefully grappling with controversial issues, the university will sponsor several events throughout the year, including guest lectures, community book readings, and artistic exhibits.

The latest example of teachers sexualizing their students get even more gross up in the state of Washington. Desert Hills Middle School in Kennewick decided to host a “licking game” where students and their teachers would lick each other on opposite sides of a panes of plexiglass.

A middle school principal is facing discipline for an inappropriate, “sexualized” licking game between students and staff.

Before students left for spring break, Desert Hills Middle School in Kennewick hosted an assembly and fundraiser that featured a competition between students and staff. Two plexiglass panes were stationed in the middle of the gymnasium and each side of the glass had four spots of marshmallow cream. Students and staff then competed to lick it off the plexiglass, often with adult educators and their minor students licking their respective sides of the glass at once. Students in the crowd could be heard screaming, “ew,” “disgusting,” “that’s so gross,” and “what the heck?” One student yelled, “who thought that this was a good idea?”

You can’t say Portland had good intentions because they should have known that what they were trying to do wouldn’t “solve” the drug and homeless problems in the metro areas. Free-wheeling drugs and government tents have never worked anywhere they’ve been tried. Never. Not in San Francisco, not in Los Angeles, not in San Diego, and not in Seattle. But the we’re-smarter-than-you set just threw millions more at it, ignoring that Portland doesn’t just have a homeless problem; it’s got a drug problem. And predictably, things are worse.

Oregonians can blame their “progressive” leaders, George Soros, and the voters staring back at them in mirrors for this mess.

The governmental equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle — state progressives, Multnomah county actors, and Portland activists — have worked together to dispirit the people through their lawlessness, destroy their once beautiful metro area with tents and bodies strewn about, and make it a hospitable place, as a local photographer put it, “for people to come to our city to kill themselves.”

These progressives have chased out several retailers. On Monday, Pacific Northwest outdoor outfitter REI told its members it would close its doors in NW downtown, citing break-ins and thefts.

Go read the rest. It seems unsurprising that a good part of the state wants to secede, and join Idaho, a far more sane state. Who can blame them? I mean look what Marxism has done to Portland

Christians have a duty to emulate Jesus in complying with governing authority. And if this is our duty as Christians, what are we to conclude about cop-haters like Dakota Means?

A Portland rioter who was previously given probation for assaulting a federal contract worker was given 12.5 years in jail for killing his 3-month-old infant child.
Dakota Kurtis Means, 23, was given the sentence after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter and one count of first-degree criminal mistreatment, according to Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt.
Means, who had previously been sentenced to time served and given probation after pleading guilty to threatening a federal officer, was found responsible for the death of Hunter Means, his young child, in April 2021, just months after he was released in January 2021 for his other crime. . . .
Prosecutors said that Means violently shook his son, resulting in the young child hitting his skull on something causing brain trauma. . . .

So he murdered an innocent, helpless baby, and all he gets is 12 1/2 years? And he will likely serve less than that. And, chances will be good that he kills someone else after that release THIS passes for justice? God help us

The scholars and theologians assembled under royal commission to produce the official English translation we know as the King James Bible were working with Hebrew and Greek original texts, and when it came time to decide what word to use for women who have sex for money, settled on the word whore. If that word was good enough for the finest scholars of 1611, it’s good enough for me, but the folks at CNN have chosen the phrase “adult film actress” to describe Stormy Daniels, as if sleazy porn videos deserve to be classified as “film,” as if it is “adult” behavior to watch such sleazy videos, and as if acting was her claim to fame. Or infamy, to be more exact. The fact that Stormy Daniels (née Stephanie Clifford) is having her “15 minutes of fame” extended we owe to Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg, who was elected two years ago on a simple platform: Prosecute Trump. (We are not supposed to say “Soros-funded” in connection with Bragg, although he was in fact funded by Soros, because it’s anti-Semitic to call attention to this.)

Bragg has made it a policy not to prosecute crimes he deems “low-level offenses,” and crime has skyrocketed out of control in New York, but what Bragg does prosecute is the very serious crime alleged against Donald Trump: Paying a whore to shut up.

Frankly, I respect Daniels more than Bragg, and certainly more than Soros, and more than 99% of the Democrats, which is not saying a whole lot. Except maybe that I respect most people more than Democrats. Most people are not actively seeking the destruction of America, Democrats, well, that seems to be all they want to do.
