New York Yankees pitcher Domingo Germán threw baseball’s first perfect game since 2012 on Wednesday night as he retired all 27 Oakland A’s batters he faced in order.

Germán’s perfect game is just the 24th in baseball’s long history and the first in MLB since Seattle Mariners great Felix Hernandez fired one against the Tampa Bay Rays on Aug. 15, 2012. It’s the fourth perfect game all-time for the Yankees; Germán joins David Cone (1999), David Wells (1998) and Don Larsen, who threw the only perfect game in World Series history in 1956.

Walgreens Is Closing 150 Stores; Everyone Should Worry

Closing stores is a fact of life for retailers. But some closings should worry consumers and investors more than others.

In its recent third quarter earnings announcement, Walgreens significantly reduced its annual profit guidance, in part because of lower Covid-19 vaccine and testing volumes.

Grooming Claims Denied

Internet personality Colleen Ballinger, known for her beloved Miranda Sings character, has responded to claims of inappropriate behavior with minor fans by singing a song.

In recent weeks, Ballinger became the target of fellow YouTubers and former superfans who accused her of “grooming” them for labor, as well as allegedly making sexual jokes with minors in a group chat. As the allegations swirled, the “Haters Back Off!” actor, who is in the middle of a Miranda Sings tour, had stopped posting on her social media pages for nearly a month.

Judge Blocks Kentucky Law banning “gender affirming care”

A federal judge on Wednesday temporarily blocked Kentucky Senate Bill 150, which would have prohibited transgender minors from receiving several forms of gender-affirming care. The ruling stops the law from taking effect while other courts hear challenges to the law.

“Based on the evidence submitted, the court finds that the treatments barred by SB 150 are medically appropriate and necessary for some transgender children… These drugs have a long history of safe use in minors for various conditions,” US District Judge David J. Hale said in his ruling.

The law banned healthcare providers from prescribing treatments like puberty blockers and hormone therapy to most minors. The law also barred gender-affirming surgeries on minors who have not been diagnosed with an intersex condition

Comedian Pete Davidson into Rehab

Pete Davidson is going to rehab, a source close to the actor confirmed to TODAY.com.

It is not immediately clear why Davidson sought help.

His stint in rehab follows an incident in Beverly Hills, California, earlier this year which resulted in “Bupkis” actor facing a misdemeanor reckless driving charge after allegedly crashed his car into a home in March. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office announced the charge on June 16 in a statement.
