A man, who had been estranged from his children’s mother, attempted to meet up with her. The woman refused. As she drove with an acquaintance, the two realized the man was following them. They attempted to get away from him, but when they stopped for traffic, he exited his vehicle with a large knife and approached the two.

The acquaintance, who was legally armed, instructed the man to retreat. Instead of retreating, he swung the knife at them. The armed acquaintance then fired at the man striking him in the face.

Without a firearm, that is. 77-year-old spots home intruder in his kitchen, then gets his gun, Michigan cops say

The 77-year-old man heard someone trying to open a door of his home, police said, and then he saw a man believed to be in his late 20s in his kitchen.

That’s when the resident got a gun and fired one shot at the intruder, police said. The suspect was not struck.

Never forget, he left would have much preferred that elderly man to be defenseless

Montana AG Sounds Alarm: Armed IRS Agents Rounding Up Gun Purchase Records

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen spoke to Breitbart News Saturday morning and told us that armed IRS agents rolled into Great Falls’ Highwood Creek Outfitters Wednesday and seized dozens of boxes of ATF form 4473s, the background check form containing information on gun purchasers.

The agents hit the store prior to regular business hours, KRTV reported.

Store owner Tom Van Hoose said, “At 7:30, I came in and they pulled in behind me with 20 heavily armed agents.”

Van Hoose believes his store is targeted because he sells guns the White House opposes: “I can only assume that it’s because of the style of weapons that we have and the press that’s so against them. The current administration seems to be hell-bent on getting those guns out of the hands of average Americans.”

The ATF form 4473 has a gun purchaser’s name, address, birthdate, state/city of birth, gender, social security number, and the serial number of any guns purchased in the store. The information is perfectly suited for use in a registry or registry database.

Why the IRS? What business does the IRS have in knowing all this information and about legal firearm purchases?

The danger of federal agents taking this information was not lost on AG Knudsen, who told Breitbart News, “I spoke with the shop owner who told me that 20 heavily armed IRS agents from multiple states in our region served a warrant before his business opened. They took dozens of boxes full of 4473s — more than a decade’s worth. This is extremely concerning because it seemingly exceeds the search warrant which limited the scope of the search to financial records. These aren’t financial records, they’re records of lawful firearm purchases. What the hell does the IRS need with 4473s? We know the ATF in Washington, DC is trying to scoop up as many of these purchase records as possible, and that’s what it looks like they’re trying to do here.”

When the only tool you’ve got is a hammer, it is said, every problem looks like a nail. When you’re a Democrat, every problem looks like an opportunity for government regulation:

Advocates took a stand against gun violence Friday at the Chester County Courthouse. Cease Fire PA wore orange as they held a rally to kick off Gun Violence Awareness Month.
Survivors and gun control advocates came together to honor those lost and pushing for the state legislature to pass more comprehensive gun safety measures.
Many hospitals in Philadelphia feel like a war zone with so many gunshot victims. The team at Jefferson’s Einstein Medical Center is working hard to save lives in the hospital and the community.
“I didn’t know if I was ever going to walk again,” said Thomas Hunter.
Hunter was temporarily paralyzed after being shot in the abdomen three years ago.
“It can happen to anybody,” he said.
Knowing the agony of gun violence, the 26-year-old now works at Jefferson’s Einstein Medical Center, helping other victims and their families.
“I meet them where they’re at. I instill them with hope, resiliency and empowerment,” Hunter said.
Einstein’s trauma center is ground zero for gun carnage. Hundreds of victims end up there and it’s taking an emotional toll on the staff.
“Every single shift, they feel that burden of the constant gun violence in our city,” said Sarah Misuro, who is a nurse. “It weighs very heavily on you – everybody.”

The story continues, with the story of “fighting gun violence”, and blah, blah, and wash, rinse, FAIL, and repeat! Gun buy backs, giving away trigger locks, more laws that will not work, and, of course, blaming guns rather than thugs, Soros backed D.A’s that do not believe in fighting crime by actually punishing violent criminals. Again, wash, rinse, and so on. In short the left is far more interested in banning guns than fighting violent PEOPLE! People who would be violent and dangerous if guns had never been invented.

Mr. McCain has some very good thoughts

Has Ms. Way taken a close look at the kind of “gun owners” who are actually perpetrating the violence in Philadelphia? Has she examined the statistics or analyzed the various cases that make headlines in the city that has been dubbed “Killadelphia”? Grant that the city’s homicide rate is not as high as Memphis, St. Louis, Baltimore or New Orleans, but it’s high enough to be in the deadly category of Worse Than Chicago.

But the people who are committing the shootings in Philadelphia are not going to be deterred by any “gun safety measures” that the Pennsylvania legislature might conceivably pass, and they certainly aren’t going to become “responsible” by giving them free gun locks.

Crime is a people problem, and the only way to deal with it is to (a) identify the criminals and (b) put them in prison.

What has gone wrong in “Killadelphia,” as in so many other American cities, is that Democrats have elected a “progressive” district attorney, Larry Krasner, who doesn’t want to put criminals in prison. As a result, you have convicted felons running amok in a climate of lawlessness where criminals do not fear the police. This problem cannot be solved by passing new laws, when the existing laws are not being enforced.

AND AMEN! As I have suggested to the Mayor of Richmond, and local news channels, the issue of gun safety could be greatly improved through education. Why do these channels and mayor not find actual gun safety experts and give them time on newscasts to explain safely handling/owning/storing guns? They have financial experts, and child care experts, pet experts, and nutritional and dietary experts on all the time. Why not people who are experts in firearm safety? I mean thy find time to report about “gun violence” every chance they get, and accidental shootings, so why not actual safe handling of firearms? Sadly, I think we know……. THE ALMIGHTY NARRATIVES! And this narrative is all about guns bad! Wash, Rinse………FAIL!

They suffered a failure of the victim-selection process. Tennessee homeowner kills intruder, wounds second after they allegedly held teen at gunpoint, tased dog | Fox News

Detectives said a preliminary investigation revealed that Ford and Wright broke into the family’s home through the front door while both wearing gloves and masks.

The men tased the family’s dog and held their teenage son at gunpoint before the homeowner grabbed his own gun, police said. The homeowner then shot the intruders several times.

One of the bad guys was declared dead at the scene. The other was apprehended shortly after the shooting and taken to a local hospital.

Notice that such stories, although very common, are NEVER reported by the national media? HHHMMMMMM

When I use the phrase Cult of Gun Control, intellectual lightweights like Gov. Inslee come to mind

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has signed the state’s so-called assault weapon ban into law. Cam wrote about that on Tuesday. It basically bans the sale of AR-15s and similar rifles almost immediately, as well as a lot of other firearms.

I’m not going to talk so much about that, nor about the legal challenges that are already underway that may well shut down the whole thing before it really gets going.

No, I want to talk about a particular comment Inslee made.

Inslee and Attorney General Bob Ferguson, both Democrats, pushed for the gun control package.

With the governor’s signature, Washington becomes the 10th state to adopt an “assault weapons” ban.

“No one needs an AR-15 to protect your family,” Inslee said while surrounded by family members of shooting victims. “You only need it to kill other families.”

Clearly, Inslee does not grasp Natural Rights, or much of anything else. That is precisely what a Marxist Moron is. It is someone too foolish to grasp that people are not wards of the State.

Why would anyone oppose teaching actual gun safety in class rooms?

In Iowa, they’re considering putting gun safety in public school classrooms, something I’ve long advocated for, and am thrilled to see it as a possibility.

Yet not everyone is thrilled with this, apparently.

I walked into our Pella studio on a recent morning, and Dave, a friend and co-worker had a question for me before I even had a chance to put my computer bag down.

“What do you think about the gun legislation they’re considering at the Statehouse?” he said, or something close to that.

Like many of you probably are, I’m numbed by all of the mass shootings in America and angry that NRA-influenced Republicans haven’t allowed us to move forward on gun control measures that most Americans want. I know that Republican legislators in every state are working hard to increase Americans’ access to guns in more places, including schools. There have been 145 mass shootings just this year as of April 11. Gun deaths have recently exceeded violent car crashes as the leading cause of the death of American children from ages 1-18.

I don’t remember exactly what I said to Dave, but I probably mumbled that I don’t know much about it; why?

“Republicans want guns at schools, and they also want hunter training in schools. I don’t have guns in my home, and my kids don’t have guns in their homes, yet they want to expose my grandkids to gun culture when neither I, my wife or my kids, and their spouses want that. We don’t want anything to do with it,” he said.

I might say I cannot fathom why someone so very against guns believes not teaching gun safety is important? Not teaching kids who might not now about firearms is a good idea? However, I do have an idea as to why many so afraid of guns oppose teaching kids the dangers of irresponsible handling of guns. I believe it is simply at they hate guns and fear anything that might lessen someone else’s fear of a firearm.

The very idea that some kid might look at a gun as something other than evil incarnate deeply aggrieves the Cult of Gun Control. Their fanaticism outweighs the obvious good of educating a kid. In short, they their hatred of an object outweighs sharing information that may prevent a kid from being a statistic.

A couple of days ago we reported the looming threat of an “assault weapons” and magazine ban in Illinois, where Democrats are planning on taking full advantage of a lowered threshold for legislative passage in the upcoming lame-duck session and using their overwhelming majority to jam through the bans over the objections of Republicans and even some downstate Democrats.

Here is the deal…….

As Eldridge details in a recent post on Maxon’s website, the particulars of HB 5855 “should horrify any gun owner.”

Major trouble areas of the bill:

State-wide registry of all currently owned “Assault Weapons”

Ban on sales of “Assault Weapons”

Ban on sale and possession of all (long gun and hand gun) magazines holding more than 10 rounds

Raise the age for FOID eligibility to 21

Firearm Restraining Orders extend from the current 6 to 12 months

This bill has an immediate effective date, as soon as the Governor signs it.

Possession of all 10+ round magazines is illegal. Manufacture, possession, delivery, sale, and purchase of assault weapons (p. 53-65) is illegal. Only weapons personally owned before the effective date are exempt and must be registered with the State Police 300 days after the Governor signs this legislation. Hello Registry! And you must pay $25 to register your “assault rifles.” This includes all pistols with threaded barrels.

I would think this tramples the recent Bruen ruling, so more court fights are coming. Again, the Left is not going to stop, ever.
