Presented without comment, Daniel Greenfield explains Biden’s Socialism, and why it sucks!

Once upon a time there was a street fair.Then the government created a Ministry of Street Fairs funded by taxing the produce sold at the street fair. At first the Ministry brought some some order to the street fair. But to justify its expansion, it would periodically launch new “street fair initiatives” paid for by higher taxes on the produce. The higher taxes are passed on to customers as higher produce prices and people stop shopping at the street fair.

After some consultation the Ministry of Street Fairs launches an “Emergency Street Fair Stimulus Plan” to promote shopping at the street fair. The stimulus plan offers people credit for shopping at the street fair. But the credit has to be paid for by doubling the price of all the produce. That and the welter of new hidden regulations embedded in the stimulus plan raises expenses for the sellers, who in turn have to raise prices. There is a short term burst of shoppers excited by the credit, which quickly fades away. The credit goes away soon enough too, but the prices stay just as high.

The Ministry of Street Fairs realizes that people are shopping for their produce at supermarkets instead. And it demands that supermarkets also be classified as street fairs, and put under the jurisdiction and tax authority of the Ministry. A Bill is introduced, “The Supermarkets are now Street Fairs” bill, to put supermarkets under the Ministry’s authority, and tax them at twice the rate of street fairs. Supporters of the bill denounce the evil “Supermarket Lobby” for profiteering at the expense of the starving children who need fresh fruit and the poor street fair sellers, who wish the Ministry would just go away. The bill passes. The Ministry is congratulated for its commitment to fighting for the right of everyone to buy fruit at vastly inflated prices.

Best political advice there is. R S McCain explains

You don’t want to be a “swing voter,” the kind of idiot who tells pollsters he’s undecided who to vote for two weeks before Election Day. Politics is a team sport. and unless you want to be some schmuck who’s a mere spectator at the game, well, you have to join the team you’re on.

Let me explain this with a personal anecdote which doesn’t involve teenagers in tube tops. At CPAC 2011, my friend Andrew Breitbart was instrumental in getting Donald Trump to give a main-stage speech and I hated it — a lot of protectionist tariff talk about China to which my reaction was, “Smoot and Hawley could not be reached for comment.”

I was not then, and am not now, part of any “cult” that believes Trump is a beau ideal of principled conservatism. Fast-forward from CPAC 2011 to June 2015 — after the Romney debacle, etc.– and Trump famously rides down the escalator to throw his hat in the ring of the GOP primary. What was my reaction? Well, before getting into that, let me remind you of my manic campaign-trail adventures of 2011-2012, when I went all-in on the Herman Cain campaign and then, after Cain got sabotaged, jumped onto the Rick Santorum campaign. My general idea was Anybody But Mitt. We had a good run of it, trying to stop Mister Inevitable and the GOP Establishment, but in the end were forced to accept our fate

Yes I know, you are thinking Baltimore cannot get any suckier……….The Other McCain disagrees

Whenever I’m trying to describe conditions in some poverty-stricken, violence-ridden Third World country like Haiti, my habit is to say it’s so bad, it’s worse than Baltimore, which is about as bad as it gets in America. Nothing good ever happens in Baltimore, a city crammed full of bad people, where Joe Biden got 88% of the vote in 2020.

The only thing functional about Baltimore is that it’s one of the largest seaports on the East Coast, but even that’s gone for now:

The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed early Tuesday after a support column was hit by a large container ship that had lost power, sending vehicles and people into the Patapsco River, authorities said.

Go read it all, and note that the economic impact will be huge, and consider Team Biden and our Transportation Secretary “Mayor Paternity Leave” Pete, Who thinks bridges are RAAAAACIST are going to be responsible for fixing this………. SUCKAGE!
