Detectives said a preliminary investigation revealed that Ford and Wright broke into the family’s home through the front door while both wearing gloves and masks.
The men tased the family’s dog and held their teenage son at gunpoint before the homeowner grabbed his own gun, police said. The homeowner then shot the intruders several times.
One of the bad guys was declared dead at the scene. The other was apprehended shortly after the shooting and taken to a local hospital.

Of course the lives saved by the private ownership of firearms is almost never reported by the propagandists we insist on calling “the media”. Their slave masters would rather gouge their eyes out with red hot chisels than acknowledge the lawful, proper, defensive use of a weapon.
But if the homeowner had killed a family member or bystander, we all know what would happen. The media would have gleefully done story after story about it, they would have interviewed the victim’s family down to their second cousins for 60 minutes. They would cover the police reports, the candlelight vigils, the funeral and the trial just to make it seem as though every legal gun owner is a ticking time bomb just waiting for a chance to open fire in a crowd and kill innocent people. Politicians would happily stand on the victim’s corpse to rail against constitutional carry until they were blue in the face. The left would be beating this story like a rented mule, and we all know it.
