Completely asinine that a legitimate business can be sued for making a legal product, that an evil bastard misuses.
A lawsuit filed by family members of three people killed during a mass shooting at a July 4 parade in Chicago claims gunmaker Smith & Wesson “facilitates violence for profit” and pushes advertising that encourages young loners to carry out such attacks.
The civil action filed in Lake County, Ill., Wednesday alleges the suspected shooter, Robert Crimo III, “was the type of young consumer susceptible to Smith & Wesson’s deceptive and unfair marketing,” according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
An absolutely absurd accusation at every level. There is nothing deceptive in the marketing of the AR-15 made by smith & Wesson. And, “unfair”. They make a product, they advertise it, how is this unfair? The killer here was deeply, deeply disturbed, and the fault/ blame should be reserved entirely on that sick bastard. This suit is about money, and quite possibly ambulance chasers taking advantage of grieving family members.
