DeSantis, a Republican who has been courting conservatives as part of an expected presidential bid in 2024, also took issue with Democrat Andrew Warren’s stance that he would not enforce laws restricting gender-affirming care for transgender youth.
DeSantis said Warren, who serves as the top prosecutor in Florida’s 13th Judicial Circuit in Tampa, was behaving as if he was above the law by promising to use his prosecutorial discretion to avoid bringing certain types of criminal cases.
“State Attorneys have a duty to prosecute crimes as defined in Florida law, not to pick and choose which laws to enforce based on his personal agenda,” DeSantis said in a statement.

Mr. McCain, is one of the most talented bloggers/writers out there. I likely learned more from him about blogging than from anyone else. So, believe when I say I am a fan, but, today, this very day, he has chosen to publish something so, so, horrific, so appalling as to shock my sensitivities. In writing about noted failed actress, and genuinely unpleasant person, Lena Dunham roasted her and perverse need to share details of her life that no one ever wanted to know.
Nothing is ever private with Lena Dunham. Remember the 2014 memoir in which Lena described molesting her little sister? Remember how she described being raped at Oberlin College by a Republican, except that it never actually happened? Because she inhabits a narcissistic bubble in which her own feelings and experiences (real or imaginary) are the only thing that matter, Dunham’s self-centered confessional mode of writing tends make everything about her. Nothing can be perceived objectively, because what about me? So when her chronic gynecological problems led her to get a hysterectomy in December 2017, this became the subject of a 2,400-word article in Vogue, as if it were imperative that she share this experience with her “fans” (whoever they may be). When given the opportunity to be on the right side of this problem with a proposed resolution to condemn the violence, House Democrats promptly voted against it. They made it clear that they do not want to defend pregnancy centers. They believe violence against these places is acceptable.
So, why the outrage and hatred the left holds for pregnancy centers? If a woman gets an abortion, it is a choice, but if another woman goes to a pregnancy center and decides to have her baby, or to let it be adopted those are not choices? That seems to be what the democrats are saying, but is there something else at play here?
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., wants to shut all of them down because they “fool people who are looking for pregnancy termination” and “torture” expecting mothers by offering them a way to have their baby safely. Although pro-lifers have rightly criticized Warren for these remarks, many on the left tacitly agree with her.
But why? Not only is it flatly contradictory to come out as “pro-choice” and yet eliminate the choice to have a baby, but it’s also wrong to bully charitable organizations that serve vulnerable mothers. Why do pregnancy centers draw so much hate?
These centers “fool” women, they “torture” women? And I would say has the very idea that maybe some women might actually seek out such centers because they do NOT want an abortion? And is that not their CHOICE? Go read the rest and see for yourself……….

Medical students at the University of Michigan walked out at the beginning of a speech on Sunday by a professor who holds pro-life views.
The activists failed in their attempt to get Dr. Kristin Collier removed as the keynote speaker for the annual “White Coat Ceremony,” which welcomes new medical students to the university.
Collier did not plan to speak about her pro-life views about abortion, but her mere stance on the issue caused a problem for some students, professors and activists. The University of Michigan’s former president Mary Sue Coleman declared that the higher ed institution would support abortion and appointed Planned Parenthood abortionist and professor Lisa Harris to lead a Post-Roe task force.

A week ago, we reported that Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said CNN is renewing its focus on “journalism” — America needs a news network where everybody can come and be heard; Republicans, Democrats,” Zaslav said.
That renewed focus on journalism can happen any day now. CNN host Don Lemon doesn’t want a network where everybody can come and be heard. “Republicans are doing something that is very dangerous to society,” he said, and journalists aren’t doing their job if they pretend that Republicans can be covered like Democrats.

There’s more to this thread by Jill Filipovic, but this tweet is the one getting the most attention. From the side that has replaced women with “birthing persons” is the claim that “unborn child” is an Orwellian term that just makes it impossible to discuss human existence with the necessary complexity. Filipovic asks that journalists please use more scientifically accurate and much more advanced words like “embryo” and “fetus”; as in, “All her friends got together to throw Jill a fetus shower.”
