There is bad at math, and then, there is this

0 0
Read Time:52 Second

Zendo Deb notes that this is not bad math, this is fiscal madness

Meep has an update on the insanity of Multi-employer Pension (MEP) funds and the state of fail: Central States Teamsters Pension Fund finally gets its bailout money, as planned — now what?

I mentioned math. You can dislike math. You can claim you are not good at math. (Do a web search for “You aren’t bad at math; you’re just lazy” and then get back to me on that.) What you can’t do is ignore the realities that math describes. Well you can, but you will end up like someone ignoring a speeding tractor-trailer barreling down the road at them. You won’t survive without outside help.

But here is the breakout:

Assets: $10.4 billion

Liabilities (valued at 2.43%): $58.6 billion

Expected payouts in 2021 (after the above): $2.9 billion
Expected contributions in 2021: $0.6 billion

So, where is that money coming from? Must be a grove of magic money trees somewhere……..

OK, now that Trump is in, what are the best, and worst that could happen ?

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 30 Second

Let us commence with the best scenarios

1- Trump wins in 2024, turns the nation around, and then DeSantis runs in 2028 and wins, and repeats in 2032! We can hope this happens, and it surely could. This would result in increasing levels of bat shit crazy from the Democratic Party, which would increase voters who reject the nuts in the Democratic Party.

2Next best option? DeSantis gets in the race, which I would likely advise against at this point frankly. But if he did, and won two terms, GREAT! The Left would still go nuts and expose how close to Marx and Engels they are, leading to another two term Republican, Conservative president! This could also lead to my long held dream of Katie Pavlich winning the White House. OK, I may be reaching here, but imagine our first woman president being a solid Conservative. Pro -Life, pro- second amendment, pro-border security, pro-military, pro-tax reform and who has that hair, those eyes, and those legs?

Now the worst scenarios

1DeSantis gets in, and Trump attacks him, and the GOP does the splits. Call this scenario WE ARE TOTALLY SCREWED option. We must avoid this at all costs, which is why I believe DeSantis should wait till 2028. This scenario would cause drastic damage to America.

2- DeSantis waits till 2028, BUT the RINO portion of the GOP, you know Mitt, Liz “Look at me, I am General Grant” Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, who basically just cries like a little bitch these days, and other assorted RINOs draw straws and go the third party route, just to screw Trump up. Do not put is past these miscreants.

Yes, there are other scenarios, both good and bad, I just pick the top two good, and bad scenarios.

When our president speaks the face palms appear in multitudes

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 34 Second

How would you describe President Biden’s speeches? Eloquent? How about inspiring? Uplifting perhaps? Unifying? How about incoherent?

President Biden told the crowd at a historically black college on Monday that they were “just as smart” and “just as bright” as students at other schools as he delivered his final speech before the midterm elections in a deeply Democratic part of Maryland.

The president’s remarks were reminiscent of a gaffe he made on the campaign trail in 2019, when he told a crowd in Iowa that “poor kids are just as bright and talented as white kids.”

At one point during his speech, Biden appeared to forget the name of one of the Maryland Democrats he was rallying for.

“And, of course, you got that next governor. What’s his name? Wes … Wes …,” Biden said as several people in the crowd held up “Wes Moore” signs that the president spotted.

Of course, sometimes there are nuggets of truth in the presidents words, like about drilling for oil for example

On Sunday, Biden boasted in New York that he hadn’t expanded oil drilling on federal lands — saying, “there is no more drilling … I haven’t formed any new drilling” — despite spending months rejecting Republican blame for high gas prices, in part by blaming oil companies for not drilling more.

OH, Mr. President! Thanks for being honest for once, even if it was a mistake. Wish we had a media that would play that on a loop like they would to a Republican president.

Of course, everyone makes gaffes, or misspeaks, but our leader has it down to a science. But, at least he looks like he is all there and in control, so…..

President Biden told a heckler “you look crazy” during a speech in Bowie, Maryland, on November 7, 2022, ahead of Election Day.

The hypocrisy of Liz Cheney

0 0
Read Time:57 Second

Check this video and listen to Cheney’s preaching on purity

Now, here is some of what Cheney said

“I think they’re really indefensible decisions,” Cheney whined. “I think Governor Youngkin has done a good job as Governor of Virginia, but nobody should be out advocating for the election of people who will not honor the sanctity of our election process,” she added. “People who do that are in fact putting politics ahead of the constitution and ahead of the country.”

HMMMM, well, Cheney knows that siding with Democrats, and the socialistic ideas is not good or the country, she KNOWS this, yet, here she is. She, again, knows they do not give the first damn about our Constitution. In fact they treat Charmin better than our founding document YET, there she is, acting just like Democrats. Sorry, Liz, but you can spare us the devotion to the Constitution crap. You are a hypocrite, and a disgrace. Tell me, which is worse, patriots who have genuine concerns about election integrity, or bedding down with those who cannot trample the Constitution fast enough?

If Benjamin Franklin were here today…

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 2 Second

He would certainly amend his statement about only death and taxes being certain. Of course Franklin, if he were still around, would surely add that lies from Democrats are a certainty.

Biden, speaking during an interview on MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show,” said that the “soul of our country” is about the “idea that fairness, decency, honesty is baked in to the majority of the American people.”

  • “We’ve been here before,” Biden also said.
  • “We’re at one of those inflection points in history […] where we’ve reached a point where there has been such a division.”
  • “There’s nothing automatic about democracy,” he said.

Decency? Honesty? Is this the same president that not too long ago gave a scorched earth speech smearing anyone who voted for Trump, or had any questions about the 2020 election? Is this the same president who, along with every Democrat that gets within shouting range of a microphone accuses gun owners of loving guns more than they love kids? Is this the same man who repeatedly bashes Conservatives as liars, conspiracy kooks, and gun nuts, not to mention racists and radical?

Biden’s remarks come as the FBI and the Department of Justice have warned some states, particularly battlegrounds, that their election workers could face threats during the midterm election.

  • Biden attributed the threats to democracy at least in part to former President Trump, citing his remarks that there were “very fine people” on “both sides” of the violence in Charlottesville.”

And yes, perhaps the most egregious lie, that has been repeated over and again since the Charlottesville mess. The fact is, President Trump never said that of the White supremacists at Charlottesville. He condemned them in explicitly clear language. The “good” people he referenced were there over the issue of a monument to Robert E. Lee. Some good people did not want the monument moved. Some good people wanted it to be removed. Those were the folks referenced by President Trump as “good” people. And, Trump was correct to say that. Yet, President Biden, and Democrats continue to repeat the lie that Trump was calling White Supremacists good people.

What is they say about lies that are told enough? That is a perfect description of Democrats approach to lies. And never expect a Leftist, face it, that is what Democrats have largely become, to give the first damn about lying. They care only about winning, and power. I am certain Ben Franklin would agree!

Nancy Pelosi, Queen of Denial?

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

It would seem so, or maybe Pelosi is just “dismissive”? The Other McCain notes Nancy is, well, perhaps pretending she does hear the political wave coming?

“I dismiss that,” Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday on MSNBC, when Andrea Mitchell asked about polls showing “rising inflation concerns along with crime, giving . . . new momentum to Republicans”:

PELOSI: First of all, let me say that I think much of what you have said I don’t agree with. That is to say, the New York Times poll, I think, is an outlier poll. You cited one poll.

ANDREA MITCHELL: It’s the RealClearPolitics average showing similar issues.

NANCY PELOSI: But that was one that brought down the average — it was an outlier. It wasn’t that big a sample. So I dismiss that.

I have been — since Congress adjourned, I have been in an average of five states a week. And I can tell you that women’s concerns about their freedom are very, very much still very significant in terms of how they will vote.

So, the abortion on demand, babies lives do NOT matter card is all poor Speaker face-life has? I mean I could say Pelosi is cranky, because, well, that gavel they give the Speaker of the House? It might not be hers come January……Nancy does love her power after all.

Four Words that might save America?

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 10 Second

The Other McCain utters this headline Midterm “Red Wave?

Ann Althouse captures Frank Bruni of the New York Times worrying that Joe Biden’s unpopularity may sink Raphael Warnock’s Senate reelection bid in Georgia. (Hat-tip: Instapundit.) The other big problem for Warnock is that the Democratic candidate for governor is Stacey Abrams, who is losing very badly to Gov. Brian Kemp

Bruni is apparently trying to warn readers of the Times — trapped inside their liberal media echo chamber — that November 8 is starting to look like a complete wipeout for Democrats. Did I mention that Republican Kari Lake, a dreaded pro-Trump “election denier” is leading the governor’s race in Arizona? Although some polls in Arizona have shown the race a tie, or with a lead for Democrat Katie Hobbs, the RCP average has been in Lake’s favor for the past month. And if Lake is winning the governor’s race, isn’t it likely that Republican Blake Masters will upset Democrat Sen. Mark Kelly in Arizona? Masters is scarcely more “extremist” than Lake, and how many split-ticket voters will there be in Arizona? If we are looking at a genuine “wave” election, the fact that Kelly has an enormous money advantage and has led all the polls won’t save him from defeat. And hey, what about Connecticut?

I pray this does happen, call me optimistic, but nervous……………….

Ohio is a Republican State…

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 17 Second

The Other McCain makes the case, and I gotta say he is right.

There was a debate Monday in the Ohio Senate race, which isn’t really a race, because Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan is going to lose, badly. The only suspense is the exact size of J.D. Vance’s winning margin.

Let’s be clear about one basic fact: Ohio is a Republican state.

There was a time, as recently as 2012, when the general popularity of Barack Obama (and the general unpopularity of Mitt Romney) made it seem that Ohio was a “swing” state. That time is now over, and it’s been over for long enough that the national media can no longer deny it.

In 2016, Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in Ohio by an eight-point margin (51% to 43%, about 450,000 votes) and pundits were shocked. Obama had carried Ohio twice, by a three-point margin in 2012 against Romney, and by more than four points against John McCain in 2008. Even during the otherwise successful GOP election years of 2000 and 2004, Ohio had been “too close to call” late into Election Night both years, with Bush squeaking past Al Gore by a margin of about 160,000 voters in 2000 and edging John Kerry by less than 120,000 votes in 2004. Yet here was the endlessly “controversial” Trump not only beating Hillary in Ohio, but beating her by the biggest margin in recent history.

Very hard to argue this folks, very hard!
