RIP NFL Legend Dave Butz

A two-time Super Bowl winner. Gone at 72

Butz was a defensive tackle who served as a stalwart for the team’s defense throughout his time with Washington.

Along with the two Super Bowl championships in 1983 and 1988, Butz’s performance on the field saw him feature in the 1983 Pro Bowl and be named First-team All-Pro that same year.

“Lost a dear friend today. Dave Butz,” former Washington quarterback Joe Theismann tweeted.
