China, Taiwan, Our weak president, UGH!

Read Time:3 Minute, 34 Second

From Bear Creek is thinking about what we do if China were to get froggy with Taiwan. Frankly, I think a lot about that myself. And a gentleman I had never heard of is thinking on that too. His name is Greg Ganske

What if China declares a naval and air “quarantine” on Taiwan, not just of weapons but of trade? This past week, Communist China did a dry run of exactly that. They used a diplomatic visit to an independent Taiwan by Speaker Pelosi as a pretext to surrounding the island with its navy, repeatedly violated its air space, and sent 11 live-fire missiles over the island into the Sea of Japan. These military exercises continue.

Why should this send shivers down our spines? What would be the U.S. response? This wouldn’t exactly be an invasion but sure could lead to war. Once war starts there is no telling where it ends. Not too long ago President Biden said the United States would help defend Taiwan should China invade it, though his administration subsequently said the ambiguous “one China” policy was still in place.

Go read it all, there is a lot to digest. But, it needs to be our top priority right now. Animal makes an important point that I believe has merit

While China has been attempting to dial their military in, in particular their Navy, they still aren’t really in a good position to project power.  They don’t have a great deal of sealift capacity, and one would hope that our vaunted fast-attack submarines alone would be able to prevent crossings of the Taiwan Strait.  Otherwise, what do we have them for?  The Chinese  have to know this

Animal also notes our biggest problem, weak leadership

Measure that, though, against the Biden(‘s handlers) Administration’s fecklessness and weakness.  If China were to make an attempt on Taiwan, now would be the time to do it.

The Chinese have to know that, too.

Go read it all, there is a lot to digest. But, it needs to be our top priority right now. The fact is being the greatest nation includes protecting our ideals, and maintaining a military that is the best in the world, and showing, when needed that we will use it That, of course would include not going WOKE with our armed forces. We need to make our mission very, very clear. We will defend our allies, we will arm them, to the teeth, and train them. We will let them handle their business. We will not tolerate China or anyone else invading an ally. And if it becomes necessary, we will come to the direct aid of our allies, and we will take every step to ensure total victory. In short we will speak softly. We will carry the biggest stick. And, if needed, we will use that stick with such devastating force that everyone will tremble at the thought of ever attacking us or our allies again.

Sadly, I am not sure we have enough members of Congress who get the importance of military supremacy. Strength is a good thing, it deters most of the aggressors. Too many on the left confuse strength and being prepared for war with bullying. That is nothing but foolishness. We would be in a much better place to tell China to watch their step if we made military superiority and readiness our top priority. Instead we have had Democratic administration after Democratic administration allow our military to be degraded, and weakened. We have ignored China strengthening its military for far too long. Both parties are guilty there. Big business and politicians have sold us out because $$$$$$$$$$.

We have ignored, to a large degree, China stealing our technology, placing money over patriotism. Frankly, if we had just put our interest first, we would be far better suited today. But we only had one guy who put us, America, before appeasement and corporate greed. And look how the power brokers treated him. Hell they have done their level best to destroy him, and to demonize his supporters. They do not want America first, or the Constitution first, they are about putting themselves first. All the while, China, grows stronger…….
