RIP Vin Scully

Read Time:22 Second

He was one of those voices I grew up on. Legend might be a title thrown around too easily and often, but not where Vin Scully in concerned.

The Dodgers announced Scully’s passing with a statement late Tuesday, posted across their social media.

“Vin Scully was the heartbeat of the Dodgers — and in so many ways, the heartbeat of all of Los Angeles,” the statement read.

  1. Very nice write-up on Vin @ Breitbart. Along with his legendary sportscasting and career, he despised socialism, was a conservative and donated $$ to republican political candidates. We’ll never see the likes of him again. Just like there will NEVER be another Johnny Carson.

    1. AMEN! So many of the voices I grew up with Dick Enberg, Pat Summerall, Scully, Charlie Jones, Keith Jackson, Brent Musburger were awesome.

      1. Yep! All those guys. (We’ll exclude Marv Albert, I think we can agree 🙂 )

I’ll add one more, love him or hate him….only ONE Howard Cossell.
        (I liked him)

        1. Hated Marv Albert, and his son Kenny, those damn voices! UGH! Then you have Kevin Harlan, every damn syllable he utters is dripping in intensity. There are times to get excited sure, but every word the guy says is delivered like it is the most crucial thing ever said.
