Mike Johnson: MAGA champion or RINO?

The new House Speaker, Mike Johnson (La.), is a well-spoken man with an affable demeanor. But what lies beneath the gentlemanly mien? Is there a “Christian nationalist” just waiting to crawl out? Or is he another “RINO” in disguise, perhaps?

It is usually wise to bet against the hysteria of the liberal press. The left-wing rag Salon only somewhat exaggerated the consensus by declaring Johnson a “bigger threat to America than Hamas could ever be.” Democrats are plugging the same message: Johnson is a “MAGA extremist” with a radical, religiously infused agenda.

On the right, the obloquy of the media is often a badge of honor. No one understands that better than the restlessly provocative Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who paved the way for Johnson’s sudden rise from obscurity. The evangelical backbencher is every bit the scary right-winger that the liberals say he is, if we take Gaetz at his word. Johnson means business. He is not one of those “uniparty” swamp creatures like Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). Or is he?

Insurrection? No, ‘passion’!

There was a massive pro-Palestinian protest in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.

Demonstrators demanded an Israeli ceasefire and criticized the Biden administration for being ‘pro-genocide.’  Some chanted “From the river to the sea…”

They also threw things at Secret Service agents, tried to scale the White House fence, and vandalized White House walls…and several historic statues.

Scary, right? Did politicians from either party claim they almost died? Nah. The protesters weren’t wearing red hats.

In fact, ABC correspondent Mary Bruce, in a post on ‘X’, was almost laudatory in her characterization. She called the protests/protesters “passionate.” She had, of course, previously called the January 6 protest an “insurrection,” knowing full well what that designation may mean for those involved.

THE SILENCE OF THE HOLOCAUST MUSEUMS

The worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust has been greeted with silence by some of the nation’s Holocaust museums including those which issued statements about BLM, the death of George Floyd and every possible issue and cause except the mass murder of Jews.

The Holocaust Museum of Houston has issued statements on its site about George Floyd’s death, “family separation at the U.S. border”, Texas opting out of the refugee resettlement program and rising violence toward “the Asian American and Pacific Islander Community”, as well as some Jewish issues, but no mention of attacks and violence against Jews in Israel.

Three weeks after the Simchat Torah massacres in Israel, it has yet to issue a similar statement on its own site, only on social media. The Holocaust Museum of Houston’s statements appear under its “Resources to Support Racial Equity and Justice” which includes books to read.

None of these books, such as ‘Between The World And Me’ by Ta-Nehisi Coates, who had recently signed a statement defending Hamas, ‘How To Be An Antiracist’ by Ibram X. Kendi, ‘Have Black LIves Ever Mattered?’ by Mumia Abu-Jamal, a cop killer, or ‘The Assassination of Fred Hampton: How the FBI and the Chicago Police Murdered a Black Panther’, as well as a book by the founders of BLM, focus on antisemitism. The Holocaust Museum of Houston does however promote the fringe racialist conspiracy theory that the government killed Malcolm X. Many of the authors recommended by the Holocaust Museum of Houston are antisemitic or promote antisemitic figures and movements. There’s room at Houston’s Holocaust Museum for the veneration of the Black Panthers and Malcolm X, both militant haters of Jews, but not Jews.

Ace of Spades

The LA Times reports that Palestinians have been “killed” by Israelis, whereas Israelis have merely “died” during the terrorist attacks, apparently due to natural causes.

@TamarSternthal

1400 Israelis “died” while 9,000 Palestinians were killed, mostly women and children, huh, @latimes? Impressive job whitewashing Hamas’ ISIS-like savageries — slaughter, maiming, burning, beheadings, torturing of civilians w/special targeting of women (rape) & kids (1/3)

That’s not all.

In that article, Israel’s military action is called “the invasion of Gaza.”

Hundreds of pro-Palestinians rally at Israeli Consulate, calling for end to invasion of Gaza – Los Angeles Times

But what does the LA Times call the terrorist slaughter of 1400 civilians, with women raped so brutally their hips were broken?

The LA Times calls that a “surprise offensive.”

@TamarSternthal

This barbaric butchery — the worst the world has seen in recent memory — is what @ashleyahn88 @latimes euphemistically calls a “surprise offensive” (2/3)

The Other McCain

“I’d be willing to speculate,” my brother Kirby said, when I mentioned that the Nashville shooter’s “manifesto” had finally been leaked, “that this person’s brain got poisoned during the lockdown. They went down a rabbit hole, and never came back.” And that’s almost certainly correct.

Like me, my brother is a longtime student of criminal behavior — a tendency I attribute to our mother’s love of TV detective shows — and one can imagine Lieutenant Columbo waving his cigar as he’s about to depart his interview with the prime suspect: “Oh, just one more thing . . .”

The lockdown hit in early 2020, but it was not until three years later, in March 2023, that Audrey “Aiden” Hale went on her/“his” murder spree. We know that Audrey/“Aiden” identified as transgender, but what we don’t know is when (or if) she/“he” started getting testosterone injections. How far had she/“he” gone down the “transition” road and what, if anything, did this gender obsession have to do with the attack on The Covenant School (which Hale had previously attended)? What purpose was achieved by murdering three 9-year-old children?

Answer: We don’t know.

Thanks to Steven Crowder, however, we at least know what Audrey/“Aiden” scrawled on three notebook pages:

Nashville Mayor Wants Legal On Trans Shooter Manifesto

Since the March 27, 2023, shooting at the Covenant Christian School, many of us have been clamoring for release of the shooter’s writing. Many journals, a suicide note, and a memoir were left by transgender shooter Audry/Aiden Hale. Today, three photocopied pages were obtained by a podcast host and the Nashville Mayor is incensed. Furious. Legal action involving possible local and Federal authorities is being looked into, according to Mayor Freddie O’Connell. If this is beginning to sound like more tangling of the woven web, you are so right.

Without wasting anytime at all to mourn the six victims of the Christian School shooter, the media and opinion writers have blamed various aspects of Tennessee life: Our Governor and open carry and a so called anti-Drag bill. It couldn’t have possibly been a severely mentally ill human. It had to be the gun culture and hatred in Tennessee.

Now, a rational being might think that the dead sicko’s writings might be important for the psychological community to study and for the general public in spotting signs. A month after the shooting, we were told that the writings would not be released completely because they were too disturbing. Which might be a reason they should be released. Check out this article from BizPacReview:

Nashville shooter Audrey Hale’s still-unreleased manifesto will not, when finally released, be in its entirety because of the danger its contents pose, according to Metro Nashville Council Member Courtney Johnston.

“What I was told is, her manifesto was a blueprint on total destruction, and it was so, so detailed at the level of what she had planned,” Johnston told the New York Post after reportedly speaking with the FBI.

“That document in the wrong person’s hands would be astronomically dangerous,” she continued.

She added that “parts” of the manifesto will eventually be released, but stressed that “the vast, overwhelming majority of it” poses too much of a danger to the public.

“I personally don’t want to know the depths to which her psychosis reached … When I’m told by an MNPD high-ranking official that it keeps him up at night, I’m going to defer to that person in that agency that I don’t need to read that,” she said.
