New York Urgently Needs To Confront the Contradiction of Trying To Electrify Everything While Also Eliminating Fossil Fuels

In New York, politicians are selling the public a narrative that electricity is going to be the solution to climate change. We will eliminate all CO2 emissions by banning gasoline-powered cars, banning natural gas infrastructure, banning gas heat in buildings, and banning gas for cooking.  All of these are to be replaced with supposedly “green,” emissions-free, alternatives – which in practice consist of only one thing, electricity.  We’ve been told that this is how we are going to protect the planet for future generations.

But there is nothing emissions-free about the way electricity is currently generated in New York.  About half of our electricity comes now, as it traditionally has, from burning fossil fuels.  New York has announced plans to eliminate those from electricity generation by 2030, but as of now has no realistic plan to replace them.  Meanwhile, it is forcing its citizens to convert essential systems like heating to electricity, with no basis to believe that the electricity will be available to prevent people from freezing in the winter only a few years from now.  This is a glaring contradiction, that needs urgently to be addressed before we suffer a self-inflicted catastrophe.

Dr. Robert Redfield Comes Clean on Government Censorship
“We, the people, must hold an overreaching government accountable for violating our most sacred rights”

“My position was just tell the American public the truth. There are side effects to vaccines. Tell them the truth and don’t try to package it.”

That was Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control during the administration of Donald Trump. Dr. Redfield recently went on record that the government health bureaucracy tried to quash discussion about the ineffectiveness of Covid vaccines.

“There was such an attempt to not let anybody get any hint that maybe vaccines weren’t foolproof, which, of course, we now know they have significant limitations,” said Redfield, who co-founded the University of Maryland’s Institute of Human Virology and served as the Chief of Infectious Diseases and Vice Chair of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

“I think we should have really confidence and not be afraid to debate the issues that we think are in the public’s interest and just tell the public the truth,” said the former CDC director. This wasn’t the first time Dr. Redfield had been at odds with the government health establishment.

Fifth Circuit Rebukes FDA for Banning Ivermectin for Covid-19

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit issued a unanimous three-judge decision on September 1, 2023, holding that the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) overstepped its statutory authority by attempting to ban using ivermectin to treat COVID-19. In Apter v. Department of Health and Human Services, court concluded, “FDA is not a physician. It has authority to inform, announce, and apprise—but not to endorse, denounce, or advise.”

Writing for the three-judge panel, Circuit Judge Don R. Willett began the court’s opinion by citing the strident nature of the FDA’s opposition to ivermectin as a COVID-19 treatment. Willett opened his opinion as follows:

New Mexico’s Democratic Governor Gun Ban Overreach Unites Own Party Against Her

New Mexico Democratic Governor Lujan Grisham declaration that she could unilaterally suspend parts of the United State Constitution by decree have gone over like a depleted uranium balloon:

New Mexico’s Democratic attorney general notified the governor, a fellow Democrat, on Tuesday that he will not defend her in litigation challenging her public health order temporarily banning firearms in certain counties and imposing other gun restrictions.

The prohibition applies to Albuquerque and Bernalillo counties.

“Though I recognize my statutory obligation as New Mexico’s chief legal officer to defend state officials when they are sued in their official capacity, my duty to uphold and defend the constitutional rights of every citizen takes precedence,” New Mexico attorney general Raúl Torrez wrote to fellow Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in a letter. “Simply put, I do not believe that the Emergency Order will have any meaningful impact on public safety but, more importantly, I do not believe it passes constitutional muster.”

Multiple plaintiffs — the National Association for Gun Rights, We the Patriots USA, residents of the affected counties, and Gun Owners of America — filed lawsuits against Grisham and her administration over the dictate.

Jen Psaki Grossly Compares Precious Unborn Babies To ‘Lumps of Coal’ – Suffers Backlash

”Because they are seeking a re-brand, ‘pro-life’ now becomes, in the words of Indiana Sen. Todd Young, ‘pro-baby,’” she said. “Pro-baby, OK. I hate to break it to you, but if you call broccoli candy, it’s still just broccoli. If you tie a really nice bow around a lump of coal, it is still coal under there.”

Psaki was responding to a report from NBC News that Republican strategists are advising a shift in GOP candidates’ messaging on abortion to get away from the term “pro-life.”

Firing Anti-Racists is Anti-Racist When the Antiracist Center Does It.

Firing anti-racists is obviously racist. Since everything (in anti-racist theology) is either racist or anti-racist, firing anti-racists must be by the binary process of elimination, racist. But wait, what happens when the Center for Antiracist Research under the anti-racist leadership of Ibram X. Kendi fires anti-racists

Then firing anti-racists becomes an anti-racist act.

Because the first rule of anti-racism is it can’t be racist if anti-racists do it.

Comedian’s stories of victimization are mostly made up

Have your heard of Hasan Minhaj? I have, though I can honestly say I’ve never watched a minute of one of his stand-up specials. He also had a Jon Stewart/Samantha Bee style cable show called “Patriot Act” in which he tried to make news topics into amusing entertainment. That show ran from 2018 to 2020. Despite the short run, the show was broken up into 6 seasons of 6-8 shows each. The show won both an Emmy and a Peabody award.

Today the New Yorker published a story about Minhaj which makes the case that a number of the stories he tells in his act, stories which he presents as true, are actually at least partly made up. Minhaj claims his goal in some cases was to tell an “emotional truth.” even if it wasn’t the actual truth.

In Minhaj’s approach to comedy, he leans heavily on his own experience as an Asian American and Muslim American, telling harrowing stories of law enforcement entrapment and personal threats. For many of his fans, he has become an avatar for the power of representation in entertainment. But, after many weeks of trying, I had been unable to confirm some of the stories that he had told onstage. When we met on a recent afternoon, at a comedy club in the West Village, Minhaj acknowledged, for the first time, that many of the anecdotes he related in his Netflix specials were untrue. Still, he said that he stood by his work. “Every story in my style is built around a seed of truth,” he said. “My comedy Arnold Palmer is seventy per cent emotional truth—this happened—and then thirty per cent hyperbole, exaggeration, fiction.”

Issues and Insights

Thank Heaven Prager University Is Coming For Our Kids

This past month, multiple media outlets on the American left, from the New York Times to the Washington Post, NPR and the Atlantic, have decried the decision by Gov. Ron DeSantis and his administration to allow the wildly popular and educational Prager University videos into Florida school curricula. Recently Texas and Oklahoma joined.

Those Americans, namely Democrats, who now embrace leftist ideology are basically outraged that our children might learn some traditional liberal American ideas and values. Such learning would create an obstacle in their drive to bring us their state-run, radically secular, gender-neutral, carbon-free, iron-fisted utopia.  In fact, the Democrat leftist tyrants who run my own Montgomery County, Md., government schools just won a court case allowing them to force religious Christians Jews and Muslim kids to be indoctrinated into the 2SLGBTQIA+  poison against their parent’s wishes. I and millions of others have had enough. We are delighted what the leaders in Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma have done — allowed for truth and American values to once again be taught in our schools.

And why, perchance might I, and millions of others from all around the world, embrace this unaccredited Prager University? Why would I, a nerdy, intellectual, thick eyeglass-wearing, Duke University degree-holding, former Democrat Jew with his nose always in a book be so enamored with its over 1,000 short educational videos?  Why would I say and mean things like “I’d rather an American public school or college kid sit in some basement for a few hours a day watching the unaccredited Prager University videos for free than be sitting in most of our accredited, blue-ribboned high school classes or any college class at Yale, Harvard Stanford, UPenn or Columbia?”  What makes me actually pay my kids, nieces, and nephews to watch the weekly new 5-minute video?

Legal Insurrection

If there’s one thing we know for sure about Joe “I am the Democratic Party” Biden, it’s that he’s a not-so-closet racist. We’ve seen it time and again. From his backhanded compliment of Barack Obama’s hygiene and shocking ability to be “articulate” to his ill-considered “joke” about having to have an Indian accent to walk into a 7-11, Biden dodders around dropping the most overtly racist crap we hear from any politician, including other Democrats.

From saying, “you ain’t black” if you don’t vote for him, to crowing about little black children playing with his hairy legs, Biden is ten levels of cringe. So I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that he’s at it again. This time implying that only black and Hispanic people don’t have high school diplomas. For good measure, the Commander in Chief took a page from then-Senator John Kerry’s playbook and bashed the military in the same breath.

Moonbattery

Dove Overdoes Moonbat Posturing

Bud Light and Target taught them nothing. The corporate world has fallen to the Long March Through the Institutions and no longer exists to provide products and services in exchange for profits. It has become a religious cult. Its purpose is to evangelize on behalf of its god, which is moonbattery:

Furious conservatives have begun boycotting Dove after the soap brand hired a Black Lives Matter activist notorious for destroying a white student’s life over a remark she later admitted she may have ‘misheard.

Like Ben & Jerry’s, Dove is part of Unilever, a British conglomerate infamous for shoving wokeism down customers’ throats, so it should come as no surprise that it chose the maleficent intersectional land whale Zyahna Bryant to tie the brand to the latest variation on Cultural Marxism, “fat liberation.”
