Let’s take a break from the depressing world of politics and talk for a moment about the equally depressing subject of the art world.
What is it about the word “art?” Pronounce it, and the IQ of susceptible folk is instantly halved. (I’ve seen cases where it is diminished by 87 percent). Normally sensible people who do not, as a rule, appreciate being being made fools of stand idly by as the chief art critic for The New York Times tells them that that a charlatan climbing naked up a scaffolding while applying vaseline to sensitive parts of his body is “the most important American artist of his generation.”
Instead of throwing something soft and rotting at such mountebanks, they nod solemnly and reach for their wallets. They are only too eager, when a stiffy arrives from the Museum of Modern Art or similar establishment, to don the soup and fish and buzz round to the super exclusive evening event where scores of beautiful people line up to sip the shampoo and admire a tank full of formaldehyde and a dead tiger shark.

One of the most powerful and prestigious offices in the ancient Roman Republic was the censor. It was the censor’s duty to conduct the census — an account of all the citizens and their properties, an appraisal of an individual Roman’s qualifications for certain honors and ranks, and a division of the people into distinct social classes. Having the authorities both to assess tax liability and noble rank made the two censors who shared this office inherently powerful. For this reason, the patricians (the ruling class) originally precluded the plebeians (the commoners) from ever obtaining the office. The ruling class was not keen on empowering a commoner to decide who is worthy of being a patrician!
Over time, this duty to conduct an official census expanded to include other substantial powers. Having the sole authority to determine whether a Roman citizen qualified for distinguished ranks and to adjudicate whether that citizen had committed any social infractions rendering him unworthy of retaining those ranks, the censors became de facto wardens of the public morals (the regimen morum). The jurisdiction to regulate proper Roman character and habits and to judge those Romans found wanting made censors both revered and feared. They were known as castigatores (chastisers) for their power to create and enforce public opinion through their granting or withholding of noble rank. They were, in other words, ancient Rome’s original enforcers of “political correctness.” This authority to regulate both the public and private lives of Roman citizens gave rise to the modern meanings of “censor” and “censorship.”

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg has gathered a group of leading experts to advise him on “transportation equity”. Never, ever forget that Pete was a Consultant with McKinsey & Company. This is such a McKinsey (globalist) thing to do. Now that Buttigieg has declared we have “racist roads”, he’s here to tell you that you own “racist cars”. We must have transportation equity. These people THINK they are the elites, my Aunt Fanny. My favorite color car is Red. What’s yours?
Buttigieg does not want to have to strain his brain by trying to suss out what happened at the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. That would involve coming up with answers that might be controversial and, maybe, possibly, could be counter to the Administration’s Narrative. Can’t take that chance. Pete must preserve and enhance his future political viability. Racist cars. That’s the ticket. Advance the narrative. Scheme to limit Americans’ freedoms. Solve nothing. Perfect McKinsey answer.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is appointing a group of “leading experts” to advise him on “transportation equity,” including several who argue that cars cause climate change and promote racism and therefore should be phased out.
Buttigieg earlier this month appointed 24 new members to his Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity, an Obama-era body that Buttigieg is reviving after the Trump administration scrapped it. Included on the committee is Andrea Marpillero-Colomina, a “spatial policy scholar” who says “ALL CARS ARE BAD” given that they cause “a myriad of environmental issues and conditions.” Another Buttigieg appointee, self-described “transportation nerd” Veronica Davis, argued in an August essay that cars perpetuate “systemic racism” and are therefore “the problem” in America’s transportation system.

Like clockwork, university academics wasted no time blaming the allegedly racially motivated shootings in Jacksonville, Florida on Gov. Ron DeSantis, President Trump, the Republican Party and … whiteness.
For example, Columbia University’s Anya Schiffrin, who recently earned a PhD on the topic of combatting “disinformation,” told Yahoo News that the “increase in polarization, the availability of guns and the virality of white supremacy is, tragically, a hallmark of political culture in the U.S.”
Michigan State University’s Danielle Brown, a journalism professor who specializes in “media representations and narrative change, reconciliation and reparative solutions and social movements and activism,” claimed that the “bevy” of black Americans being killed by those whose political beliefs “mirror a dominant and powerful party in the American political system” are merely the beginnings of a “genocide attempt.”

When California’s reparations task force released its report recommending $1.2 million in total lifetime payments to every black person, it made headlines around the world.
California was not a slave state so what was the $1.2 million payout even based on? Even though the task force conveniently proposed limiting payments to the descendants of slaves (despite the lack of slaves in the state) it was mostly based on calculating the differences in life expectancy between black people and white people.
The meat of the 1,000 page report isn’t in the endless pages of virtue signaling, including a chapter on cultural appropriation, but the claim that “the difference in life expectancy between African Americans and white non-Hispanics in California can be interpreted as the cumulative effect of unequal treatment”. The report gets the amount of money from multiplying the value of a year of life, $127,226, by the 7.6 difference between the life expectancy of 71 years for black people and 78.6 years for white people to get $966,918 for most of the $1.2 million total.

Then it was global warming that was going to do us all in, and when it turned out the Earth wasn’t warming after all, it was CLIMATE CHANGE!, which is also commonly referred to as CLIMATE CRISIS! That one is with us still, because it’s the all-purpose, one-size-fits all CRISIS, which demands unlimited funding and the seizure of permanent, unlimited political power. There is no condition, or lack of a condition, that cannot be blamed on climate change, which is why there is a CLIMATE CRISIS!!!
