California’s Gov. Gavin Newsom calls his state a veritable bastion of parental rights
California’s Gov. Gavin Newsom continued his attacks on red states, blasting Texas and Florida for “banning” books containing pornographic imagery from school libraries.
Nothing could be further from the truth, he oleaginously assured. Newsom insisted that outstate groups had misled parents into thinking that schools are somehow “sexualizing” children.
Incredibly, he did this while touting his state as a bastion for parental rights, going so far as to argue that no state outdoes California on “local control and parental engagement.”
Newsom actually claimed that he supports “the rights of parents to speak out,” despite the fact that the state is poised to turn parents into criminals if they dare to question their school board representatives.
According to the California Globe, Senate Bill 596, introduced by Democratic State Senator Anthony Portantino last February and dubbed the “School Employees Protection” act, expands an existing law “which makes it a misdemeanor for any ‘person’ to threaten or harass a school employee during the ‘course of [their] duties.’”

Prince Immediately Regrets Waking Rachel Zegler With A Kiss After She Starts Ranting About The Patriarchy
FAIRY FOREST — Prince Florian quickly regretted his decision to wake Rachel Zegler from her enchanted sleep as she immediately launched into a 3-hour-long tirade about the patriarchy.
“Yeah, this was a mistake,” said Prince Florian as Ms. Zegler continued her diatribe. “I’m starting to see where the Queen was coming from.”
According to local dwarves, the first thing Ms. Zegler did upon being saved from her catatonic state was to accuse the Prince of being a creepy stalker. “She let him have it,” said Sleepy. “To be frank though, we dwarves are as mad at the Prince as she is. We’ve had peace and quiet ever since Ms. Zegler ate that poisoned apple – and now the Prince has gone and ruined it all. Ugh, I’m going back to bed.”

Woman kills registered sex offender trying to break into her home
Here’s another defensive gun use that groups like Moms Demand Action will completely ignore. Authorities in Pima County, Arizona say a woman shot and killed a man with a lengthy criminal history who was trying to break into her home last week, protecting herself from what could easily have been a violent encounter.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office 43-year old Jason Magrum had been a frequent flyer in the local court system, with at least eight charges going back to 2006 for things like assault, disorderly conduct, and threats or intimidation. Magrum is also a registered sex offender in Utah, so there’s no telling what was on his mind when he attempted to gain entry to the woman’s rural home southwest of Tucson.

She told deputies she grabbed a gun and fired a warning shot through the window hoping it would scare the intruder away, according to an initial news release from the department.
She fired a second time, striking Magrum.
Responding deputies tried to revive Magrum, but he died at the scene.

Herman Andaya, the administrator of Maui’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA), resigned Thursday after drawing immense criticism for his agency’s response to the tragic fires that killed more than 110 people in Maui, The Associated Press reported.
Andaya’s agency opted against sounding the emergency siren system as fires began to engulf swaths of the island’s populated areas last week, a decision which appears to have led to his resignation, which is effective immediately, according to the AP. He strongly defended his agency’s decision during a Wednesday press conference, stating that the use of the sirens may not have helped citizens in a testy exchange with reporters

Ersatz or artificial substitutes for products used to be a wartime necessity. Americans and other westerners have long since accepted the ubiquity of ersatz products for real ones. Everything from butter to maple syrup to meat is replaced with substitutes for dietary or economic reasons.
The ‘ersatzization’ of food has been more than overmatched by the same phenomenon in our culture. Artificially generated images and essays are treated as if they were the work of some higher artificial intelligence rather than just the digitally remixed work of actual humans.
And men are treated as women as long as they insist that they really are women.
Objective measures of reality have fallen by the wayside in favor of a subjective materialism in which it matters only what something appears to be or what we think it is, not what it really is.
