The Arrogance of Liberals like New York’s empty suit mayor, Eric Adams

‘Huddled Masses’ Update: Why Is This ‘Crisis’ Costing New York Billions?

MAN, the Left can spend money like nobody’s business

Our moral and intellectual superiors:

New York City’s surging migrant population is set to double by June 2024 — meaning the city will be on the hook for 100,000 homeless immigrants — as costs are estimated to rise to a mind-boggling high of $12 billion over the next three years.
“We are past our breaking point,” Mayor Adams declared in a dire address at City Hall Wednesday, pleading with the feds and everyday New Yorkers to help mitigate the crisis.

The city currently spends a nightly average of $383 per 25,600 asylum-seeker households, including families with kids, adult couples and singles — for housing, food and other services, according to officials.
“With more than 57,300 individuals currently in our care on an average night, it amounts to $9.8 million a day. Almost $300 million a month and nearly $3.6 billion a year,” the mayor said.
“This is the floor, not the ceiling,” he warned, revealing the city’s current expenses could rise even further.

Why sooooooo much money? Observe

Yes, but what about the arithmetic? Adams speaks of “25,600 asylum-seeker households” costing the city $383 per day or, by another calculus, “57,300 individuals” who cost the city $9.8 million a day — which simple division tells me amounts to $171.03 per “individual.” Multiply that by 365 days of the year, and this means that New York City is spending $62,425.83 per year on each member of its “surging migrant population.”

Every man, woman and child of these “huddled masses” is consuming, at taxpayer expense, a sum nearly $10,000 a year greater than the median household income in Alabama. Of course, the migrants themselves get nary a nickel of that spending, which is funneled through a vast bureaucracy and into the coffers of non-profit social-service charities, so that what most of this money actually goes to is keeping sociology majors employed. Also, a lot of the money is paid to rent hotel rooms for the “57,300 individuals,” so that spending $9.8 million a day functions as a subsidy to hotel owners, and also guaranteeing employment for the hotel maids whose job it is to clean up after the “huddled masses.”

Go read it all. Democrats are REALLY awful at math…………..

  1. The bad math amounts to a win/win. The tax money is wasted on/stolen by the profitable “non-profits” who produce exactly nothing. That cannot go on without breaking the taxpayer/government equilibrium and destroying all other commerce. There will be a stampede out of the City, region and state of anyone with any valuable property at all that can be taxed. Increased income tax will mean people will stop working or move. Increased real estate taxes will cause people to sell and crash the real estate market. Increased sales taxes will drive shoppers elsewhere. Impoverishing Americans to enrich the non-profits in the name of the useless illegal foreigners will only add to the legions of poor and desperate.
Meanwhile, the invaders will still be getting nowhere for all their trouble. They will still be useless, poor, diseased, illiterate, unteachable, arrogant, and stupid long after the effort to prop up their comforts is abandoned. The fact that all of this “aid” is allegedly being spent on them and yet they are not getting any richer or more independent will not be lost on them for long. They came here with “streets paved in gold” nonsense in their heads and they are not going to settle for a cot and 3 box meals a day as any sort of acceptable state. They will start demanding more and misbehaving when they don’t see it. The anger level will rise and this mass criminal conspiracy will evolve into the more proactive approach of looking for wealth and simply taking it by force instead of waiting for handouts.
As I said, win/win. The system cannot be saved, it must destroy itself and consume those who enabled it. If you want to help, might I suggest making maps to the rich and power people’s neighborhoods and towns in various languages and handing them out at the shelters. You could include some glossy pamplets with photos sowing how the elite like to live. If you have any time left over from that you could start inciting our domestic chimps into action by pointing out that they have been displaced in the free handout pecking order by the foreign interlopers. Sometimes it just takes a little encouragement for these types to overcome their inertia.
