The Craziest Recommendations from California’s Reparations Task Force

After two years of hearings and often contentious debate,  California’s Reparations Task Force delivered its official report to state lawmakers. The 1,100-page report now heads to the state legislature, where Democrats will decide which recommendations should become law.

Notably, the report doesn’t set an exact amount for direct cash payments to black Californians. But it has plenty of other radical policies. Here are eight of the wildest.

Decriminalize Public Urination. The task force suggests police refrain from arresting those caught publicly urinating, trespassing, camping on the street, or evading fares on public transportation.

Arresting such people “criminalizes poverty,” the report says. Public urinators and their ilk are better left to a  “public health and safety institution” without power to arrest or prosecute anyone, according to the task force.

Victory Girls

Megan Rapinoe, TransCult Handmaid

Megan as a moral role model for girls is failing miserably as she advocates for males to supplant them in the locker room and on the field.

now on the eve of her final Women’s World Cup, Rapinoe has taken aim at recent policies that aim to ban transgender women (sic) from competing in women’s sports. (snip)

“‘You’re taking a “real” woman’s place,’ that’s the part of the argument that’s still extremely transphobic,” Rapinoe told Time. “I see trans women as real women. What you’re saying automatically in the argument – you’re sort of telling on yourself already – is you don’t believe these people are women. Therefore, they’re taking the other spot. I don’t feel that way.”

Megan has spoken. She feels that males can turn into women. She feels that there is such things as chestfeeding and the female penis

THE OTHER MCCAIN

With Friends LIKE this……

What kind of car do you drive? What are your monthly car payments? Excuse me for asking, but one fact that caught my eye in this story out of Chicago was that Arsenio Cooper was driving a Jaguar SUV. A quick Google search informed me that a used 2020 Jaguar SUV can be had for somewhere in the $30,000 to $40,000 range, causing me to wonder how Cooper was making his car payment while out on bail:

A seven-time convicted felon charged with shooting and trying to kill a long-time friend was on bail for a felony case in which he’s accused of having more than three pounds of pot in his car.
Arsenio Cooper, 33, is the 13th person accused of shooting, killing, or trying to shoot or kill someone in Chicago this year while awaiting trial for a felony. The cases involve at least 18 victims, seven of whom died.

Latest Clarence Thomas Corruption Shocker: He Belongs To Group That Helps Poor Kids Go To College

In the latest smear of Clarence Thomas, The New York Times reports that the justice has been a longtime member of an “elite circle” known as the Horatio Alger Association.

This dubious syndicate of wealthy Americans, named after “the Gilded Age author whose rags-to-riches novels represented an aspirational version of Justice Thomas’ own bootstraps origin story,” has handed out around $245 million in college scholarships to approximately 35,000 students. It doesn’t stop there, I’m afraid. The Times reports that Thomas — and you may want to sit down for this — was “meeting with and mentoring the recipients of millions of dollars a year in Horatio Alger college scholarships, many of whom come from backgrounds that mirror his own.”

Manhattan Contrarian

Here in New York, we proceed giddily along shutting down our functioning and reliable mostly-fossil-fuel based electricity-generating system, in anticipation of an imminent future of clean and free “renewables.” After all, our Climate Act (officially, the “Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act of 2019”) has decreed that we must do so. A Climate Action Council — created by the statute and packed with politically-appointed climate activists with next-to-no expertise in how the energy system works — cooks up “Scoping Plans” that direct the little people to go out and create an entirely new energy system on a politically-determined timetable.

And almost nobody so much as raises any questions as to whether this can possibly work. Among the tiny handful of doubters we have myself, but more importantly a much more indefatigable guy named Roger Caiazza. Caiazza has a website called Pragmatic Environmentalist of New York.
