An increasingly censorious atmosphere is sweeping through Down Under

Three prominent women in Australia have been sacked or expelled for voicing gender critical views in recent weeks. Julie Szego, long-time feature writer for The Age was sacked for, well, doing her job. Szego was commissioned to write a piece on transgender youth by then Age editor Gay Alcorn, but the completed article was subsequently rejected by the new incumbent Patrick Elligett. She subsequently chose to publish it on Substack.  Elligett went on to sack Szego, and now to Substack she goes, like all the other “neo-Nazi, right wing extremists”.

Nor was she the only one. Moving north, we learned this week that senior staff psychiatrist at Queensland Children’s Health (QCH), Dr. Jillian Spencer, was stood down following a patient complaint. The hospital drew upon its powers to compel staff under employment law to use children’s preferred pronouns. This followed months of conflict at QCH over the treatment of children with gender dysphoria, specifically on whether to follow the affirmation or exploratory models.

Ace of Spades

Good morning kids. I’ve developed a theorem, which is for sure much more provable if not already a rock solid principle of the universe than “climate change.” To wit:The more outrageous the crime and the more backed up by evidence to prove it, the more likely it is that the Democrat-Leftist who committed it will skate.

Naturally, the inverse applies with equal and greater measure for non Democrat-Leftists and their designated enemies. This is not some great genius brainwave but merely what is obvious to anyone who has eyes to see and a brain function somewhere between yogurt and Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants. Yeah, we’ll get to his latest magnum opus Kinsley gaffe in a second, but let’s first illustrate the point with this “scoop” from fag-hag pinup boy Vanderbilt Poofter, also known as Anderson Cooper, who breathlessly reported:

Ron DeSantis Goes To The Southern Border

Governor Ron DeSantis may be behind Donald Trump in the polls, but we have a long way to go in this election season, and he is busy laying out his policy platform so that primary voters can make an informed decision.

Yesterday, the governor met up with excellent and intrepid Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, who has made the southern border one of his major focuses (to the point that the Biden administration blocked him from using a drone in 2021, in order to try and conceal the extent of the border crisis – but in a wonderful Streisand Effect moment, Melugin got a helicopter ride instead). Melugin reported that Ron DeSantis received a briefing from Texas Department of Public Safety on the current border situation, then he joined Melugin for a boat AND a helicopter tour of Eagle Pass,

‘No!’: Biden Claims Ignorance of Hunter’s Foreign Business Dealings In Face of Mounting Evidence to the Contrary

President Joe Biden on Monday denied any knowledge of his son Hunter’s foreign business dealings, the latest in a series of confusing, and seemingly goalpost-shifting statements from the White House.

Biden offered a simple “no” in response to a reporter’s query, “Did you lie about never speaking to Hunter about his business deals?” Days earlier, White House spokesman Ian Sams responded to mounting evidence to the contrary by claiming simply that President Biden “was not in business with his son.” Sams’s statement itself contradicted Biden’s oft-repeated claim, which the president has maintained since 2019, that he’s never discussed foreign business deals with his son.

Medieval studies professor working at ‘decentering whiteness as knowledge’ wins award

Professor Nahir Otaño Gracia was recently bestowed the Mellon Emerging Faculty Leaders Award from the Institute for Citizens and Scholars.

Otaño Gracia was awarded for her work “The Other Faces of Arthur: Whiteness and the Global North Atlantic.” It analyzes whiteness in medieval texts and is supporting her upcoming work on “decentering whiteness as knowledge,” according to a news release from the University of New Mexico, where she works as an assistant professor of English and medieval studies.

The award is given to junior faculty who demonstrate through their research that they are “committed to the creation of an inclusive campus community for underrepresented students and scholars,” the institute’s website states.
