THE PUBLISHER CENSORING ROALD DAHL IS SUING FLORIDA SCHOOLS FOR ‘BANNING BOOKS’
Bertelsmann has been censoring and rewriting children’s books by Roald Dahl and altering the “unacceptable prose” of P.G. Wodehouse in the Jeeves and Wooster books.
The ex-Nazi publishing giant which operates under such names as Penguin Random House and Puffin Books, took a red pencil to Roald Dahl long after the author’s death, cut any references to “fat”, “ugly” or “crazy”, along with “mothers and fathers” and other un-woke terms.
It is the publisher for Dr. Seuss books, a number of which were banned and are being replaced with new “inclusive” books by “diverse” authors that Theodor Geisel never actually wrote.
Jeeves and Wooster books now come with “trigger warnings” cautioning readers that
“language, themes and characterisations” are “outdated” and some have been edited out.

Twelfth Oregon County Votes to Join the “Greater Idaho” Movement
These counties do not want to be part of the “Greater Utopia” that includes Portland.
This January, I wrote that one Oregon county submitted a petition that added a ballot initiative for joining 11 other of the state’s counties in the “Greater Idaho” movement.
The votes have been counted and its official: Wallowa County is now part of the “Greater Idaho” movement.
The vote originally took place in May, with preliminary results showing support for the effort leading by only 21 votes. After all votes were finalized in June, the lead shrunk to only seven votes, narrowly avoiding the state requirement for a recount.

Media taken to task after “fawning” over anti-gun activist
Ryan Busse has made quite a name for himself as the gun industry insider who has turned anti-gun. The media loves to quote him and interview him, without ever looking at whether he knows what he’s talking about or not. (Spoiler: He doesn’t.)
The upside for him is that while folks like us will look at his claims critically, most media outlets will do no such thing. They’ll drink the anti-gun claims as if it’s Kool-Aid.
In fact, they’re not even necessarily going to get basic facts right.
Lawrence Keane, writing at our sister publication, Townhall, notes just how bad one outlet got it in a glowing, fawning piece about Busse.

Thoughts on the Federal Trump indictment It’s Incredibly Weak
Two days ago (June 8) a federal grand jury in Florida, at the behest of Justice Department “special prosecutor” Jack Smith, indicted ex-President and current presidential candidate Trump over matters related to the retention of classified documents generated during his time in the White House. The full text of the indictment can be found here.
You might think that indictment of the currently-leading opposition candidate to the incumbent president in the upcoming election would be something reserved for a case of extraordinary significance. After all, using the criminal justice system to prosecute political rivals is one of the hallmarks of the Banana Republic. Among those who have used the strategy are Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, Evo Morales of Bolivia, and, of course, Vladimir Putin of Russia (whose lead political rival, Alexei Nalvalny, languishes in jail on a charge of “fraud,” which seems to consist of raising campaign funds while supposedly disqualified from running for office due to being on parole from a previous phony charge). Surely the American President and Justice Department would not resort to a flimsy indictment to take out the leading political rival.

Actually? No. I mustn’t. In fact, I reject the premise entirely.
