‘Anti-Capitalist’ Cafe in Toronto Closes After Just One Year
In Toronto, Ontario, a cafe and coffee shop that styled itself as “anti-capitalist” and encouraged customers to simply “pay what you can” will be going out of business at the end of the month.
According to the New York Post, the cafe, simply named “The Anarchist,” opened in March 2022 and will close its doors on May 30th. In a statement, the cafe’s owner Gabriel Sims-Fewer blamed its downfall on a “lack of generational wealth/seed capital from ethically bankrupt sources.”
While the cafe did charge standard prices for espresso and tea, as well as breakfast pastries, its main draw was to offer drip coffee to customers at any price they could afford. The public was also allowed to freely use the restroom and congregate in the storefront without making a purchase.

Austin City Council Wants To Hand Millions In Graft To The Homeless Industrial Complex
It’s good to be a member of the Austin Homeless Industrial Complex. Not only do you get to rake off graft for luring drug-addicted transients to town, you also get to rake off graft to clean up the resulting mess.
Item #23 on this week’s Austin City Council agenda allocates another $20 million to the Homeless Industrial-Complex to clean up dozens of dangerous homeless encampments around the city.
Item 23 (link) says it’s critical for these camps to get cleaned up, since they pose “a great degree of health, safety, and fire risks.”
Austin Water also needs cleanup services on “environmentally sensitive areas of the wildlands” due to toxic waste and debris contaminating the watershed.

Handguns are used in 78% of mass shootings. Like the kind that happen every weekend all over Chicago. There are those of you out there somewhere who had high expectations of the probe by John Durham into the origins of the FBI investigation into Russian collusion/interference in the 2016 Presidential Election on behalf of Donald J. Trump. The FBI will be exposed. There will be tapes of Obama, Biden, and Hillary colluding and planning the whole thing. Or, if you hate Trump, there will be a white board out there where Russian Operatives named Boris and Natasha planned dates and times for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts.
