Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will be announcing an alliance of 18 states with the intention of pushing back against President Biden’s environmental, social, corporate governance (ESG) agenda.

According to a press release, each of these states have promised to initiate “state-level efforts to protect individuals from the ESG movement” by purging ESGs from state pension funds and investments. The 18 states include Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming, according to DeSantis’s office. (The newly-elected treasurer of my home state of Kansas has been on the case since he took office in January, 2023.)

DeSantis said:

I said we would spearhead an initiative to join with other like-minded states to send an even louder message to the financial industry that the American people have rejected ESG at the ballot box. We will not stand idly by as the stability of our country’s economy is threatened by woke executives who put their political agenda ahead of their clients’ finances.

Newsless papers

The newspaper industry is dying from irrelevance. Nevertheless, the people who work at journalism schools keep mourning the disappearance of these relics of 19th century technology.

The latest is Joshua Benton at Harvard. He worked a few years in newspapers, wised up to reporting being a dead end job, and got a gig at Harvard in 2008, first as a Nieman Fellow, then as founder of Nieman Labs, which is a fancy name for sitting around whining about the death of print media.

He wrote an 1,800-word complaint about the death of newspapersHe blamed Corporate America for people telling print journalists to go peddle their papers elsewhere. Like many a liberal, he considers Gannett a villain because it wants to make money, but a new villain attracted his attention as well: Alden Global Capital.

Kamala Harris’ Husband: The Holocaust And Going To A School Board Meeting Are ‘Interconnected’

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff told South by Southwest conferencegoers on Wednesday that he believes the “hate” that fueled the Holocaust is also found at school board meetings when parents confront leftist administrators.

Emhoff kicked off the conversation by bragging that the Biden administration is “doing great” but quickly shifted the discussion to focus on his public campaign against “hate and antisemitism.”

“I met one woman who was saved in the Holocaust in Germany, settled in Ukraine, and is now a refugee again back in Berlin where she originally left as a Jew in the Holocaust,” Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband told interviewer Symone Sanders-Townsend, who served as Harris’ former senior adviser and chief spokeswoman before leaving for MSNBC in 2021.

The Morning Briefing: DeSantis Notches Another Win Against Woke Corporate Idiots

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is a publicity juggernaut these days. He has a built-in advantage being the head of one of the most populous states in the country, of course. Then there is the fact that he has embraced his role as lightning rod for leftist haters and squish Republicans ever since the early days of the pandemic.

The reason he gets so much attention here at the Briefing is because he doesn’t make any unforced errors. Some claim that his recent remarks on Ukraine could be construed as such. I don’t:

Schlichter doesn’t either:

Of course, all the right people got really mad about it – when Bill Kristol, Adam Kinzinger, David French, Max Boot and Mitt Romney are all for something, you need to be against it. Hardest hit was the GOP establishment – it was very sad because the governor refuses to be dragged along into cheerleading yet another massive foreign policy failure.

There’s only one thing more appalling than a male robbing females of opportunities in the field of sports. It’s when the transgender dude out-muscles the girls, then lords it over them and tells them to deal with the injustice. That’s just what happened in Massachusetts when Chloe Barnes, a male ringer, helped the Brookline girls win the high school state championship in the 4×200-meter relay this season.

After doing the girls dirt, the haughty Barnes rubbed it in. “Deal with it. Just deal with it,” the insensitive punk told them.

During that relay race, Barnes taunted his opponents just as the roadrunner taunted Wily Coyote. Initially, he pulled far out in front of the competition. He slowed down twice to determine the length of his commanding lead. Even then, the opposing girls’ teams couldn’t gain a yard on the cheater.
