NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ Slam Of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Visit Backfires

“How many New Yorkers have moved to Florida? How many Floridians to NYC? How many NYCers lost jobs due to your vax mandate? How many Floridians? Years of school lost NYC v FL? Maybe watch & learn instead of the empty virtue-signaling,” observed one Twitter user

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Democrat “leaders” in blue states like California and New York have made a habit of periodically taking potshots at red state governors like Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, ostensibly on ideological grounds.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, for instance, has repeatedly attacked DeSantis and Abbott for, among other things, supposedly making their states unsafe during the Wuhan virus outbreak and, in DeSantis’ case, for pushing back with all the tools he has at his disposal against wokeism in the public school system and higher ed.

East Palestine Will FINALLY Get A Buttigieg Visit

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg will finally go to East Palestine, Ohio on Thursday, February 24, three weeks after the toxic derailment and 18 details after a controlled release that gave us an unbelievable black cloud of poison. Please note that it is one day after a visit by President Donald Trump. It is noteworthy that it will be just over 36 hours after Buttigieg told a Daily Caller reporter that he was taking some personal time.

The definition for the Biden Administration is “Ineptocracy“:

(Noun) a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers. Adjective would be Ineptocratic.
Usage: Our current Ineptocracy is driving me to drink. The current Ineptocratic government is driving me to drink.

Is Georgia Anti-Trump Grand Jury Forewoman Literally a Witch?

Everybody is talking about the weird media tour by the forewoman of the Atlanta grand jury that was investigating President Trump’s dispute of the 2020 election results in Georgia. This investigation is evidently based on the theory that a candidate who believes he was cheated in an election must be guilty of some kind of crime if he attempts to rectify the alleged cheating. And it’s part of a pattern that Tucker Carlson correctly discerned, i.e., that “partisan prosecutors at all levels, state and federal, are trying to prevent [Trump] from running for president again.” Or to quote Lavrentiy Beria: “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.”

Instead Of Getting Nonwhite Students Up To Speed For Honors Classes, ‘Equity’-Obsessed Schools Give Up On Kids Entirely

As if the learning losses suffered due to Covid lockdowns over the last several years didn’t harm children enough, left-wing elites have another “solution” in search of a problem: eliminating honors classes.

The Wall Street Journal recently reported on the trend, highlighting controversies in several southern California districts over their moves to nix honors courses in high schools. It represents the latest example of how the left’s moves to enforce “equity” will result in lower standards and less learning for children of all skin colors and backgrounds.

Manhattan Contrarian

A recurring theme here at Manhattan Contrarian is that the “smart” people who seek to run the world are not really very smart. They may have gotten high scores on the SATs, and they may have attended fancy universities, but when it comes to practical knowledge of how the world works they are often complete idiots.

A special case of this phenomenon is that the highest gurus of high finance — the people who are most trusted to have mastered basic numeracy, and who get to pass out trillions of dollars of public funds — are completely innumerate.

I come to this issue today as a result of the recently-completed briefing in CHECC v. EPA, the DC Circuit case challenging EPA’s “finding” that atmospheric CO2 is a “danger to human health and welfare.” The group challenging the Endangerment Finding, the Concerned Household Electricity Consumers Council, asserts standing on the ground that increasing the amount of solar and wind “renewable” generation on the grid necessarily drives up consumer electricity bills.
