Big Pharma is ready to cash in on the latest cash crop in American health care: childhood obesity.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) published new guidelines on tackling childhood obesity Monday, and they recommend a cocktail of pills and surgeries as long-term remedies for weight loss
Rather than kick the kids outside and turn off their cell phones, the aggressive guidance suggests children aged 12 and older struggling with obesity be prescribed medication alongside lifestyle changes to confront the obesity epidemic surging in adolescents. Obese teens aged 13 and up are recommended to be screened as candidates for bariatric surgery.

Whatever the professed intensions of some individuals who fly it, the public meaning of the pride flag, and in particular the public meaning of flying a pride flag at the centers of government power, is not a demand for tolerance. Rather, it is a demand that we worship new gods and new rulers. People understand this intuitively.

Actually, police say 51-year old Robert Rheams had both a shovel and a lug wrench in his possession when he forced his way into a house in Hammond, Louisiana around 5 a.m. on Sunday morning, and authorities don’t believe he was at the residence to do a little home improvement.
While Rheams had some blunt heavy objects that could have been wielded as weapons, fortunately the homeowner had access to a firearm, which she used to protect herself and her family.
