The major media have deliberately ignored the revelations about Twitter censorship that have been drip, drip, dripping out the past few weeks in a series called the #TwitterFiles because, of course, the media fully endorsed the censorship regime that existed before Elon Musk bought the company. If you’re in the business of selling a particular narrative — a generally pro-Democrat “progressive” view of the world — then it is in your interest to shut down competing voices that provide information contradicting that narrative. This is why so many “journalists” endorse advertising boycotts against talk radio, Fox News, etc. The mainstream media are losing their audience — does anyone watch CNN anymore? — because nobody trusts them, and so the only way they can stay in business is to try to silence alternative media. Anyway . . .
In Tuesday’s #TwitterFiles dump, Matt Taibbi went through the story behind how it was that Twitter ended up acting as a de facto arm of the U.S. intelligence community, bombarded by requests from the FBI, CIA, DHS to delete thousands of accounts. The pretext for this censorship was “foreign interference” — RUSSIA! RUSSIA! RUSSIA! — and it was driven by Democratic politicians, including Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, who was then the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and California Rep. Adam Schiff. Remember that this was the excuse Hillary Clinton offered for her 2016 defeat, that Russia somehow “hacked” the election, and this excuse (supported by the phony Steele dossier) became the justification for a special counsel investigation of “Russian collusion” claims that ultimately found no evidence. Have you forgotten all those TV talking heads claiming that “the walls are closing in” on Trump because of Mueller? And then . . . nothing? So this was the environment in October 2017 when Politico published a story with the headline, “Twitter deleted data potentially crucial to Russia probes”:

Adam Kinzinger Finally Got His Dream Job As A CNN Talking Head
CNN is working so hard to pivot from being the Never Trump network that its new corporate bosses just hired one of the movement’s most prominent cheerleaders.
On Tuesday, CNN announced the hiring of ex-Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., who stepped down from the lower chamber this week after he declined to seek re-election in November.
“Happy to join team @CNN!” Kinzinger wrote on Twitter, where his moniker now includes the hashtag “fella.”

UW-Madison liberals ‘physically sick’ and ‘hurt’ by Matt Walsh event
University of Wisconsin-Madison students, faculty and staff feared a conservative event that criticized gender ideology represented a “hate crime against women” and would promote violence against LGBT individuals, according to documents obtained by The College Fix.
The Fix recently obtained bias incident reports through a public records request for complaints made against the Young Americans for Freedom event featuring Matt Walsh.
The event was about transgenderism and shared a name with his “What is a Woman” movie.
Students, staff and professors were left “angry,” “hurt” and “physically sick” at the thought of him coming to campus, based on complaints primarily filed before the event.

Let’s face it — Santos’s fabrications are pretty bad. But are they really “unprecedented,” or even unusual, among the lies told by politicians to advance their careers and gain office, including among current office-holders?
I’ve got a bunch I think are worse. The funny thing about these, though, is that not a single Democrat seems to care about them. All involve current officeholders, who are not subject to any widespread demands that they resign. Let’s consider.
Ilhan Omar. Ms. Omar is the current Congressperson representing Minnesota’s 5th District (Minneapolis). Rumors that Omar had married her biological brother as part of an immigration fraud scheme had surfaced even before she was initially elected to Congress in 2016; but during her first re-election campaign in 2018 the rumors were replaced with detailed and damning research. A guy named David Steinberg did a meticulously-researched series of articles from August 13 to November 5, 2018, that as far as I can see definitively prove the allegations. Scott Johnson of PowerLine has followed the story extensively, and in this summary post from July 18, 2019 not only summarizes the facts, but also provides links to all of Steinberg’s articles.
