One sheepdog kills eight Coyotes, lives to fight again!!

Georgia sheepdog is recovering from injuries after squaring off against a pack of coyotes, killing eight of them, while protecting his herd.

Casper, a sheepdog who works on John Wierwiller’s Georgia farm, fought off more than half a dozen coyotes in a fight that lasted over half an hour, WAGA-TV reported.

Wierwiller says that Casper disappeared for two days after the brutal fight.

“We knew he was hurt because we found parts of his tail and blood and other things, so we were worried,” Wierwiller said.

Casper eventually returned to the farm with visible injuries.

Casper is a Great Pyrenees and one bad, bad dog!

  1. My eternal fondness for dogs of all sorts just received an upgrade. What a glorious heart and soul.

  2. By the way the comment about “rare for that many coyotes to run”, and “generally they are more afraid of you…” reveals the author of that comment has not witnessed pack hunting and does not understand predator behavior.
The sheep herd owner needs a 12-gauge loaded with #2 and red area lights.

    1. I’m with you Dan, that comment at the end made me laugh out loud, so I just had to check out this group they contacted for an expert opinion called the “Atlanta Coyote Project”. On their About us page I read: “Whether you are captivated, concerned, or just plain curious when it comes to coyotes, we strive to be a relevant and credible source of information and to provide strategies for peaceful human-coyote coexistence.”

These idiots are obviously delusional, and it seems to me only exist to snarf up grants for “research” that they just pass back and forth with other like-minded animal rights idiots but never really do anything worthwhile. In other words, typical academia.

Anyone that has spent any significant time in the woods understands more about coyote behavior than everyone involved with that organization combined.

All I know about this incident is what I saw in the video, but I can tell for certain that the organized pack of animals that attacked Casper and his flock probably prefer to avoid people and their livestock because like most coyotes, they understand that contact with those types of folks generally doesn’t turn out well. But in this case, they were most likely hungry and desperate, so they took a chance and broke that rule. Casper was probably very lucky that they were not operating at 100% because if they were he’d be history along with a lamb or two.
