Forget the deplorables. What we have here is the REAL threat to our Democracy. Which is, drumroll please, the rage of the white rural voters.
No, I’m not kidding. That’s according to two very VERY liberal writers (one of whom used to write for the Washington Post. Tom Schaller and Paul Waldman wrote a book titled: “White Rural Rage: The Threat to American Democracy.” Isn’t that such a darling title? Well, Paul wrote an op-ed for MSNBC in which he informs us that the real danger to this country is because of the rage embedded into the psyche of the WHITE rural voters.
At the same time, polls show that rural whites not only are more likely to express racism, xenophobia and conspiracism than Americans who live elsewhere, their commitment to the American model of democracy is increasingly tenuous. Of course, that doesn’t apply to all rural whites, and plenty of Americans in suburbs and cities share those views. But rural whites are particularly important because of the unusual political power they wield.

Whenever I see polls like this, I have to wonder, who are the 43% who think America needs another four years of Joe Biden? Are they just sadists, who take pleasure in ruining life for everybody else? But such mysteries can’t spoil my joy at seeing the New York Times admit that Biden is losing by a 5-point margin. And speaking of joyful news:

On February 22, 2024, nursing student Laken Reilly was murdered by illegal alien Jose Ibarra at the University of Georgia. Let us insert the obligatory “alleged” in relation to Ibarra, and let us mentally add that qualifier throughout this article to spare me the necessity of typing it every time. She was running in a portion of that campus often used for that purpose when Ibarra bludgeoned her to death:
The illegal immigrant suspect charged in Augusta University nursing student Laken Riley’s death in Athens, Georgia, is accused of ‘disfiguring’ her skull, according to new information added to the affidavit.
Jose Antonio Ibarra is charged with the felonies of malice murder, murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and concealing the death of another, as well as the misdemeanor of physically hindering a 911 call, according to the affidavit filed on Feb. 23. According to new information added this week, Ibarra ‘did commit the offense of aggravated battery when he maliciously causes bodily harm to another by seriously disfiguring her body or a member thereof by disfiguring her skull.’
For the felony offense of concealing the death of another, the arrest affidavit accuses Ibarra of ‘dragging the victim to a secluded area.’
What’s unusual about this case is there is no official word about rape. Is this because authorities don’t want to admit to another rape by an illegal immigrant, because illegals committing heinous crimes don’t fit the Democrat/Socialist/Communist (D/S/C) political and media narrative of noble illegals coming here only for a better life, or is it possible Ibarra merely beat Riley to death without intending to rape her, or was scared away before he had the chance? As with many such cases, we may never know.
