Are Californians Racist Sexists or Sexist Racists?

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 20 Second

And does it really matter? Maybe we should all just agree that residents of Cali ah Marxifornia are nothing but hating haters that hate

Perhaps readers will recall the identity-politics argument Democrats offered during the Obama era: “Vote for us, or you’re racist!” Then in 2016, with Hillary Clinton as their candidate, the Democrats’ argument became, “Vote for us or you’re sexist!” But now we look at the California Senate primary, where both progressive “rising star” Katie Porter and long-term congresswoman Barbara Lee were on the ballot, and instead, California Democrats chose white male Adam Schiff. NBC News:

Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff and Republican Steve Garvey will advance to the general election in the hotly contested California Senate race, NBC News projects.
That means Democratic Reps. Katie Porter and Barbara Lee, who also ran for the seat, will be shut out of the general election. The progressives will also vacate their House seats at the end of the term.
Under California’s rules, the top two vote-getters advance to the general election regardless of party affiliation.
In the final stretch of the race, the battle grew ugly between Schiff and Porter, the top-polling Democrats in the race. Schiff cultivated his national profile by battling former President Donald Trump as the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee. Porter, a populist who flipped a former GOP-held district in 2018, ran on a platform of taking on corporate power and addressing working class economic needs like the cost of child care.

Well, it Appears CNN Hacks have Soiled Themselves

And certain infamous blogger is over the moon

Watching CNN (so you don’t have to) is usually a chore for me, but today it was unusually pleasant to witness the anguish as Jim Acosta, Dana Bash and their panelists bemoaned the unanimous Supreme Court ruling that struck down the effort by Colorado Democrats to ban Donald Trump from the ballot in that state. Roger Kimball with the news:

The bottom line? “The judgment of the Colorado Supreme Court therefore cannot stand.” The cherry on top: it was a unanimous decision. “All nine Members of the Court agree with that result.” Ergo: “The judgment of the Colorado Supreme Court is reversed,” quod erat faciendum, or, in the words of the document, It is so ordered.
Of course, it was always absurd that the anti-Trump brigade should pretend to save democracy by keeping Trump off the ballot because otherwise the people might vote for him. It was just another example of the malodorous fact that, for these people, “democracy” means “rule by Democrats,” not rule of the people.

Well, bless their hearts

Read Time:27 Second

Currently, a biography of Confederate General William T Wofford, of Georgia. He served in Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia including commanding Hood’s Texas Brigade for a while. I have just begun re-reading the book, I read it twenty something years ago, and am going through it again. I will write a review if it upon finishing it. Here is the full title if you wish to read it yourself.

“One of the Most Daring Men”

The Life of Confederate General William Tatum Wofford by Gerald J. Smith

Today, on “If They Can do it to Trump……”

Excellent piece from Manhattan Contrarian

Two weeks ago, on February 16, in a case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, Justice Arthur Engoron of the New York State Supreme Court issued his decision ordering Donald Trump to pay some $355 million of “disgorgement” penalties. The stated basis for imposing these extraordinary penalties was Trump’s supposed “fraud” of exaggerating the value of some of his properties on financial statements submitted to a bank. No one had been damaged by Trump’s conduct, and the bank in question had neither complained nor sought any relief; however, the Attorney General asserted, and the judge agreed, that a legal basis existed for imposing the penalties under New York’s Executive Law Section 63(12), which allows the AG to prosecute “persistent fraud or illegality” without need for showing traditional elements of fraud like intent and damages, let alone a victim.

The issuance of Justice Engoron’s decision brought forth an immediate reaction from many quarters (including Manhattan Contrarian here). James had campaigned for office on a platform of “getting Trump,” a major political adversary, and had sought and obtained penalties far larger than any previously awarded under this statute, for conduct far less egregious. If the AG can use a broad statute to target a politically-disfavored individual like Trump in this way, how could any person doing business in New York think they are safe from similar legal abuse?

Recognizing the problem, our lightweight Governor Kathy Hochul went on a radio talk show on February 18 in an effort to reassure the New York business community. RealClearPolitics on February 19 has an audio clip and a partial transcript of Governor Hochul’s remarks. The key line was that Trump’s case was an “extraordinary, unusual circumstance,” and therefore “law-abiding and rule-following New Yorkers . . . have nothing to worry about because they’re very different than Donald Trump and his behavior.”

Law-abiding New Yorkers “have nothing to worry about”? Really, Governor Hochul? AG James waited all of ten days before making a complete fool of Hochul. On February 28 James dropped her latest over-the-top politicized case. The new target is something called JBS USA Food Company Holdings — the U.S. subsidiary of the world’s largest producer of beef. Here is the AG’s press release announcing the filling of the case; and here is a copy of the Complaint.

Yes, Indians did “Steal Land” too

0 0
Read Time:43 Second

Sorry, Leftists, your anti-American narratives are BS!

In recent years, higher institutions across the U.S. have increasingly issued formal “land acknowledgments” recognizing the American Indian tribes that formerly inhabited the land.

But such statements blatantly ignore that Native Americans violently took the land over from other tribes and have also been financially compensated for the land, two scholars said in interviews this month with The College Fix.

A striking example of this trend can be seen in Minnesota, where numerous public and private universities have published land acknowledgments primarily referencing the Dakota people, a nation of American Indians that historically occupied the state.

While the statements vary in length and content, some Minnesotan universities use language asserting that an institution “occupies” the homelands of the Dakota people and seeks to remedy “ongoing injustices.”

The truth must be told
