The Wild 2024 Race

Current polls, pundits, and politicos insist that the 2024 race is a sure rematch between former President Donald Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden.

It may well turn out that way.

But in past election cycles, summer polls 15 months before the general election usually did not mean much.

In December 2003, the CBS poll headline blared, “Dean Pulls Away in Dem Race.” Howard Dean would eventually be clobbered by nominee John Kerry.

In the Gallup Poll of late June 2007, Hillary Clinton still continued to enjoy her wide lead in the Democratic primary over eventual nominee and elected president Barack Obama.

On the Republican side, Gallup noted of its summer 2007 polls that, “There has been little serious threat to the frontrunner, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani”—who bombed out early in the race.

About this time in 2015, Jeb Bush was leading Donald Trump in the Republican primary. Or as CNN characterized their summer poll, “He [Bush] holds a significant lead over the second-place candidate Trump.”

By January 2016, the favorite, can-do Wisconsin governor Scott Walker was leading all candidates by a substantial margin as they headed for the Iowa caucuses.

President of Thomas Jefferson university resigns after ‘liking’ unapproved tweets

Dr. Mark Tykocinski recently resigned as president of Philadelphia’s Thomas Jefferson University after coming under fire for “liking tweets” critical of COVID vaccines and trans surgeries for kids. The unbridled audacity! He’s lucky he didn’t get the electric chair!

You know the concept of free speech is out the proverbial window when one can no longer even make a one-word ‘comment’ on someone else’s speech!

This news would be distressing to Thomas Jefferson, were he alive today, as he and the rest of the founders knew that ‘democracy’ is impossible without the absolute right to freedom of speech.

UFOs Took Over Capitol Hill on Wednesday

While the Hunter Biden courtroom drama suddenly sucked all the air from the news cycle, three former defense officials appeared before the House Oversight Committee to warn that UFOs, or UAPs, pose national security risks.

The witnesses included a a former Navy pilot, a retired Navy commander and an ex-Air Force intelligence official who accused the government of being too secretive about these incidents. They also urged the intelligence community to become more transparent.

The most shocking testimony came from David Grusch, veteran and former member of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Grusch said he “absolutely” believes that the government has been holding non-human technology for decades. Not only that, but they’re holding non-human craft with non-human species inside.

Feds are Mystified why Syrian Named Mohamad Planned Terrorist Attack

Almost as soon as the July 14 shooting happened in Fargo, North Dakota, the media rushed to emphasize that nothing was known about the gunman’s motive. On a Friday afternoon, on a busy street just blocks away from the city’s Downtown Street Fair, there was a traffic accident. When police responded to the accident, they were targeted by gunfire that killed one officer and wounded two others. A civilian was also struck by gunfire during the shootout, in which the suspect was killed.

It was not until 24 hours later that we learned that the suspect was named Mohamad Barakat, but in the June 15 press conference announcing this information, Fargo’s police chief made it a point to declare the shooting happened “for no known reason at all.”

It is a profound mystery, you see, why a guy named Mohamad would want to kill policemen in Fargo, North Dakota. But how did Mohamad get to Fargo? We now know how that part happened:

Barakat arrived in the U.S. from Syria in 2012 as part of former President Barack Obama’s massive wave of Syrian refugees, where nearly 20,000 were admitted from October 2011 to December 2016. Eventually, Barakat gained a green card, allowing him to permanently reside in the country. In 2019, Barakat was allowed to become a naturalized American citizen.

BARBIE AND THE LEFT’S WAR ON CHILDHOOD

Barbie dolls are meant for little girls from 3 to 12, while the Barbie movie is rated PG-13. The material in the movie isn’t appropriate for children, but neither is it appropriate for adults.

Parents are expected to take young girls to the movie which is one part pink glitz, as it is being marketed through every corporate media outlet, and one part extended feminist rant denouncing men and our society. Tacky and vulgar, Barbie the movie is the work of children in adult bodies who have been given adult powers, but confuse leftist virtue signaling with adult responsibilities.

Barbie is the latest invasion of childhood spaces by adults who have never grown up. Peter Pan long ago stopped being a fantasy and became an extended societal nightmare. The majority of attendees at Disney theme parks are no longer families, but childless millennials, and the same is true of subscribers to the Disney+ streaming service. Barbie follows up on Disney’s legacy of replacing family and children’s programming with deconstructionist millennial nostalgia binges.

Life is getting cheaper every day it would seem

On May 7, 2021, Axel Ndagijimana, then 21-years-old, was driving at nearly 80 MPH on West High Street, between Rupp Arena and Oliver Lewis Boulevard, when he lost control of his vehicle and ran off the right shoulder into a utility pole. There are warning signs in the area of an upcoming narrow bend to the left. Ralph Hirwa, aged 20 years, his passenger, never got the opportunity to turn 21.

Man charged in a deadly Lexington crash gets probation after pleading guilty

A man previously charged with second-degree manslaughter for his involvement in a deadly car crash has received three years of probation after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

Axel Ndagijimana, 24, of Lexington, was arrested and charged in June 2021 after a passenger in his car died from injuries in a crash on West High Street. Ndagijimana’s was driving “at a high rate of speed” west on High Street before Oliver Lewis Way when he lost control and the vehicle ran off the right shoulder into a utility pole, police said. The crash killed 20-year-old Ralph Hirwa.

Ndagijimana was accused of driving more than 80 mph in a 25 mph zone at the time of the crash, and a blood test taken after the crash showed he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.159, a detective testified previously. The legal limit in Kentucky is 0.08.

His attorney, Bradley Clark, said his client made a “monumental error in judgment” by deciding to drive after drinking. Clark wrote that the death of Hirwa was a tragedy, and Ndagijimana had made amends to the victim’s family.

So, he was drunk as a skunk, with a BAC of twice the legal limit at however long after the accident the test was taken, yet driving anyway, in an area with narrow streets, at over 80 miles per hour. Sounds like an open-and-shut case to me!

Mr Ndagijimana was initially charged with KRS §507.040, manslaughter in the second degree, a Class C Felony. Under KRS §532.060(2)(c), a Class C Felony is punishable by “not less than five (5) years nor more than ten (10) years” in prison.

But Mr Ndagijimana was allowed to plead down to KRS §507.050, reckless homicide, which is a Class D Felony. Under KRS §532.060(2)(d), a Class D Felony is punishable by “not less than one (1) year nor more than five (5) years” behind bars.

In other words, Mr Ndagijimana was already given one break, a maximum sentence of five years.

Consequences? Guess those are not important anymore, at all. Go read it all

Why yes, the Marxist Morons who run Chicago are getting more moronic

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 29 Second

Like violent crime? Incompetent political leadership? You will love Chicago

Is anyone paying attention to that place, besides the families who have to come identify a body?

The city of Chicago has experienced another bloody and violent weekend as six people were fatally shot and 27 others were wounded by gunfire.

Officers responded to two dozen separate shooting incidents from 6 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, according to major incident notifications released Monday.

The incidents included the slaying of one man and wounding of four others early Saturday as they stood on a sidewalk and the wounding of three people, including two women, Saturday night on Chicago’s South Side when gunfire rang out from an alley at a group of people.

I don’t believe the new mayor is all that hep to keep tabs on what’s going on. He seems to have taken a dive into the social whirl of his position and forgotten to check the public servant part. That sure happens a lot with these big blue city Democrats, no?

GO read it all, unbelievable, simply unbelievable. And the citizens? Their “protection”, seemingly very unimportant to Mayor Clueless

Seems at some point Chicago voters would start to get a clue doesn’t it?

What the Hell is The Other McCain doing in my mailbox?

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 9 Second

Actually, Robert Stacy McCain, is not in my mailbox. But, The Other McCain blog has a great post up, In the Mailbox Afternoon Edition posted by Wombat-Socho. He does some wonderful compilation posts daily, and you should go check them out. I wanted to call attention to those, and, also point out the blog T.O.M. is honoring right now as THE FULL METAL JACKET REACH-AROUND AWARD honoree.

Thank those gentlemen so much for the mention. McCain was one of the first blogs to link this blog regularly, and taught me a great deal about this game. Slowly I built The DaleyGator, increasing traffic,. 500,000,hits one of my early years, then a million hits, regularly, then 2 million, then 3 Million, and, in 2022, I was well on my way to 5 million hits. The trajectory was up, up, and up, then, one day, WordPress.com pulled the plug, poof, Gone! Erased!

Fourteen years of work, no mas. And, the rebuild continues, at pace less rapid than is my desire, but, I will find the right formula. What I will not do, EVER, is turn TheDaleyGator into a click bait site. This will never be the Conservative Brief, or Gateway Pundit or the Conservative Treehouse. That, I promise. Now, go read and enjoy, comment, have fun. And thanks to my loyal readers. Y’ALL are the best!
