Good thing he had access to a firearm. Armed 79-year-old shoots, kills intruder who stabbed him in home garage, deputies say

Deputies said the younger man assaulted and stabbed the victim as he exited his vehicle inside his garage. The victim had a gun on him, and he fired one round that struck the suspect before the gun was wrestled away from the victim.

That one round struck the assailant in the chest. He died before he could flee. The victim was able to call 911 and they took him to the hospital.

Democrats and Crime……

Read Time:4 Minute, 24 Second

The Other McCain looks at Philadelphia. Perhaps we should just admit that the name ”Killadelphia” is a much more fitting title though. Consider…….

Murders declined slightly this year in Philadelphia. Through Monday, Dec. 26, the city had recorded 512 homicides this year — down from a record 562 in 2021 — according to the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Most of the victims were young Black men, with the violence intensely concentrated in neighborhoods where poverty, blight, and other systemic disadvantages collide.
The number of people who were shot and survived — nearly 1,800 through Monday — also rivaled last year’s record-setting pace.
And while other crime categories, particularly those not involving guns, had been declining over the last few years to decades-long lows, police statistics show several offenses had marked increases in 2022: Commercial burglaries were up by 41% compared to last year, retail thefts by 51%, and auto thefts by 30%.
More than 2,800 robberies involved guns this year, police said — about 55 per week — a 22% increase over last year, and the highest annual tally since 2015. . . .
Interviews in recent weeks with violence survivors, community advocates, and law enforcement officials, as well as data on the issue, show some clear trends: Guns continue to proliferate, carjackings have hit record levels, and the effects are being felt widely across impacted communities.
As shootings and homicides have hit sustained new highs, so has the proliferation of the weapons used to commit them.
For the third straight year, according to police statistics, around 90% of all homicides were committed by gun, about 15% higher than both the state and national average.
Police also recovered more than 6,000 so-called crime guns — firearms typically recovered at crime scenes, in drug busts, or from people accused of possessing them illegally. That’s nearly double the tally from just four years ago.

Did you happen to notice the spin in there. The guns, and RAAAAACISM receive more blame than those shooting the guns. The Other McCain gives us a great take

Notice how the Inquirer, after acknowledging that this problem is disproportionately concentrated in the black community, immediately offers the excuse of “systemic disadvantage,” as if poverty (and “blight,” whatever that means) could somehow explain the recent increase in criminal violence. But has there been an increase in “disadvantage” since 2017, when Philadelphia recorded only 259 homicides? No, of course there has been no such thing, and therefore you can’t blame “blight” for the fact that Philadelphia’s deadly violence roughly doubled in a span of four years, 2017-2021, and has just slightly declined this year after setting an all-time record last year. What does explain it, then?

Click through, read the rest, and find out that, there are several factors at play. Demonization of police, the rank lawlessness of the riots ”peaceful protests” after George ”Fentanyl” Floyds’ death by lawless thugs, among other factors. And, we cannot ignore the role of the propagandist media, and yes, those Soros-backed DA’s, like Larry Krasner in Philly, who seem to prefer letting violent criminals out than locking them up. And yes, do not overlook the campaign against cash bail, because bail is RAAAAACIST!

YEP! Lots of issues, and there is one more, Philadelphia, like other cities facing crime increases, will not stop voting for Democrats. One more bit from Mr. McCain

Democrats are the anti-cop, pro-criminal party, and electing Democrats is an invitation to crime. No one should be surprised that deadly violence prevails in Philadelphia — or Chicago, Baltimore, etc. This is what the residents of those cities voted for when they elected Democrats.

Because the media are controlled by “Democratic Party operatives with bylines,” crime is reported in a deliberately misleading way, as reporters strive to conceal the real causes of crime — i.e., the “culture of disrespect for law enforcement” that produces a political alliance between criminals and Democrats. More from the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Carjackings, another gun-related crime, have continued to rise at a startling pace. Police said more than 1,300 carjackings were reported this year, a 53% increase over last year and nearly six times the annual total reported just three years ago.
Eleven people were shot during carjackings this year, police said, and officers made 274 carjacking arrests, sometimes for charges connected to violence, other times for theft or unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Police and community members say the rise in the crime is fueled in part by young people using the cars for joyrides around the city, or to commit additional crimes. Criminal justice experts have also pointed to the increased value of used cars, plus electronic key fobs and heightened vehicle security that require robbers to confront drivers for their keys.

The word for this is deflection — blame guns, rather than criminals, for the increased number of carjackings and, while you’re at it, bring in “experts” to cite irrelevant facts, as if “electronic key fobs” and other anti-theft technology didn’t exist prior to the past three years. The real reason that carjackings have skyrocketed is that Krasner won’t prosecute criminals, and the criminals know this, so they’ve run rampant.

Go, read the entire piece.

Zendo Deb is a national treasure

And it isn’t the first home that he stole from. Or tried to, anyway. Nye Co. Sheriff: Pahrump homeowner shoots intruder

Pahrump is an unincorporated part of Nye County, Nevada. It is about 60 miles from Las Vegas.

A homeowner woke up because he heard an intruder in his home. The intruder then kicked open the bedroom door.

The homeowner, who is not facing charges, then shot Richard twice.

Two shots center-mass. They had to fly the guy out to a trauma center in Las Vegas.

Deputies found Richard in possession of a shotgun that was taken the previous night during a home invasion on the 8000 block of Ralph Court.

Richard also is facing charges of grand larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, the sheriff’s office said.

New Joisey passes unconstitutional gun bill

1 0
Read Time:54 Second

Statists really loathe your right to keep and bear arms

The legislation (A4769) would require gun owners in New Jersey seeking to obtain a carry permit to purchase liability insurance and take training courses, while increasing permit fees and prohibiting people from carrying firearms in a wide range of “sensitive places” in the state — including schools, public parks, courthouses, and bars.

Supporters say it’s needed to help protect residents if more people are carrying guns after the Supreme Court decision this summer. Critics say the proposal is unconstitutional and unfair to law-abiding legal gun owners.

“We must do everything we can to make sure New Jersey families remain safe and protected while enjoying all New Jersey has to offer,” said Sen. Linda Greenstein, D-Middlesex, a main sponsor, who was absent for Monday’s vote

Ah note that this fool believes that law abiding people are a threat to New Jersey residents. Criminals will not follow the law, because they are criminals. Such laws make no one safer, and make criminals more likely to create mayhem and harm.

Easy to rob an old man, that is. One killed in reported home invasion | Altoona Mirror

So in the absence of a firearm, exactly what should a 72-year-old do if attacked by a 22-year-old miscreant? Lay down and die?

State police reported that the homeowner fired one round, striking Hall, who died at the scene.

The homeowner was injured in the assault that accompanied the home invasion. He was taken to a local hospital.

Without firearms to even the odds, the old and the infirm would be at the mercy of the young and the violent. Maybe that is the world that the Left wants.

Remember kids those seeking to disarm law-abiding Americans, are statists.

No serious discussion about violent crime can morally be had without discussing the need for harsher sentences for violent felons. Consider this story from 19th Ward

Parolee charged in ‘heartless’ mass shooting outside Portage Park bar, top cop announces. Supt. David Brown on Tuesday said Samuel Parsons-Salas carried out the cold-blooded attack after being asked to leave a party for the bar owner’s niece.
By Tom Schuba

Animal Samuel Parsons-Salas

A recently-paroled felon was charged Tuesday with killing three people and critically wounding another outside a Portage Park bar, where the city’s top cop said he carried out the “heartless” attack after being asked to leave a party for the owner’s niece.

That description really does not tell the truth about what a piece of filth Samuel Parsons-Salas is though, here is more

After a “disturbance” at the party, Parsons-Salas was asked to leave, Brown said. He was then caught on surveillance video getting a gun from a vehicle and opening fire during a subsequent confrontation.

Graphic video of the shooting that was shared with the Sun-Times shows a crowd gathering in the street before a gunman begins picking people off, apparently targeting some victims twice and at point-blank range. The video appears to show the shooter get into the passenger side of a dark SUV that drives away.

Mariah Vera, the bar owner’s niece who was hosting the party, had rushed to her father’s side, weeping over him and trying to tend to his wounds when the shooter walked up and shot her in the head, a law enforcement source said.

Vera, 25, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Brown said she was “fighting for her life.” Her father, Ricky Vera, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene outside his brother’s bar.

Two of Mariah Vera’s friends were also killed: Mercedes Imari, a 24-year-old mother of a young boy and infant twins; and Mario Pozuelos, 26, a “beloved son, brother, nephew [and] cousin,” according to a GoFundMe page launched to cover his funeral costs.

So, a “recently-paroled felon”, who apparently had no trouble getting a weapon, murdered three people, in cold blood. Why was an obviously dangerous out, walking around? What crimes had he committed to become a felon?

Parsons-Salas has a lengthy criminal background and has served multiple prison stints.

In January 2014, he was charged in a deadly home invasion in Albany Park in which two people were shot to death, according to the defunct neighborhood news outlet DNAinfo Chicago. Parsons-Salas initially faced two counts of first-degree murder, but he pleaded guilty to two counts of armed home invasion, carrying eight-year prison sentences.

Parsons-Salas has also been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to charges of robbery and aggravated battery on a police officer, records show.

YET, he was out and slaughtered three people. This is happening all over the country, YET, dangerous people keep getting light sentences, or are allowed to plead down. And more people get hurt, or worse. That is not justice, that is evil frankly.

Home invaders are still getting shot. Lufkin police investigate after alleged burglar gets shot | cbs19

Don’t get so drunk that you try to break into a home in Texas.

According to police, the shooting happened around 1:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of Houston Street in Lufkin. The homeowner said the man seemed to be intoxicated and the resident was in fear for his life

He is lucky he survived. Hopefully, he was just drunk and learned a lesson

The egregious sins of GUN CONTROL

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 12 Second

Despite what some over-educated leftists may think, there ARE some truths in life. One of those is described by Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson- “… arms… discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. … Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived the use of them.” -Thomas Paine.

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms… disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” – Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria.

Criminals are opportunists, and forbidding the carrying of firearms by the law abiding helps no one, except for violent criminals. Zendo Deb offers up this story .From New York, where leftists have erased the liberty to arm yourself

The law-abiding are disarmed (it’s for your own protection!), and the lawless are free to act. NYC subway slashing victim says bystanders just watched: ‘Nobody helped me’

A straphanger who was slashed in a random transit attack in Queens recounted the bloody assault to The Post on Monday — saying bystanders didn’t lift a finger to help.

“The blood is coming down my face and I am screaming for help,” Hector Hernandez, 36, recalled from his home in Brooklyn, a day after the horrifying incident.

“Nobody helped me.”

Such is the progressive utopia of NYC.

As for the defenselessness of the law-abiding:

“This is the first time anything like this happened,” he said. “But what can I do? I still need to work … I don’t carry a knife or anything to protect [myself]. I can’t get arrested.

“I don’t know,” he said. “I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

This person is left no good choice by the Statist miscreants running the Rotten Apple. They care more frankly, about banning guns, bans which criminals will ignore of course, than they do about law abiding citizens. And, of course the damned fools who reside in New York keep electing statists. Layers and layers of stupidity and fools.

I would guess that if this nation made teaching about our founding, and its principles, and natural rights mandatory in schools, the people would reject the leftists politicians that trample those rights. Instead, we allow and encourage “teachers” who are not fit to shovel camel dung to teach our children that our Founders were all racists, and that our constitution does not say what it clearly says.
