A recently-paroled felon was charged Tuesday with killing three people and critically wounding another outside a Portage Park bar, where the city’s top cop said he carried out the “heartless” attack after being asked to leave a party for the owner’s niece.
That description really does not tell the truth about what a piece of filth Samuel Parsons-Salas is though, here is more
After a “disturbance” at the party, Parsons-Salas was asked to leave, Brown said. He was then caught on surveillance video getting a gun from a vehicle and opening fire during a subsequent confrontation.
Graphic video of the shooting that was shared with the Sun-Times shows a crowd gathering in the street before a gunman begins picking people off, apparently targeting some victims twice and at point-blank range. The video appears to show the shooter get into the passenger side of a dark SUV that drives away.
Mariah Vera, the bar owner’s niece who was hosting the party, had rushed to her father’s side, weeping over him and trying to tend to his wounds when the shooter walked up and shot her in the head, a law enforcement source said.
Vera, 25, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Brown said she was “fighting for her life.” Her father, Ricky Vera, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene outside his brother’s bar.
Two of Mariah Vera’s friends were also killed: Mercedes Imari, a 24-year-old mother of a young boy and infant twins; and Mario Pozuelos, 26, a “beloved son, brother, nephew [and] cousin,” according to a GoFundMe page launched to cover his funeral costs.
So, a “recently-paroled felon”, who apparently had no trouble getting a weapon, murdered three people, in cold blood. Why was an obviously dangerous out, walking around? What crimeshad he committed to become a felon?
Parsons-Salas has a lengthy criminal background and has served multiple prison stints.
In January 2014, he was charged in a deadly home invasion in Albany Park in which two people were shot to death, according to the defunct neighborhood news outlet DNAinfo Chicago. Parsons-Salas initially faced two counts of first-degree murder, but he pleaded guilty to two counts of armed home invasion, carrying eight-year prison sentences.
Parsons-Salas has also been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to charges of robbery and aggravated battery on a police officer, records show.
YET, he was out and slaughtered three people. This is happening all over the country, YET, dangerous people keep getting light sentences, or are allowed to plead down. And more people get hurt, or worse. That is not justice, that is evil frankly.

A straphanger who was slashed in a random transit attack in Queens recounted the bloody assault to The Post on Monday — saying bystanders didn’t lift a finger to help.
“The blood is coming down my face and I am screaming for help,” Hector Hernandez, 36, recalled from his home in Brooklyn, a day after the horrifying incident.
“Nobody helped me.”
Such is the progressive utopia of NYC.
As for the defenselessness of the law-abiding:
“This is the first time anything like this happened,” he said. “But what can I do? I still need to work … I don’t carry a knife or anything to protect [myself]. I can’t get arrested.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
This person is left no good choice by the Statist miscreants running the Rotten Apple. They care more frankly, about banning guns, bans which criminals will ignore of course, than they do about law abiding citizens. I would guess that if this nation made teaching about our founding, and its principles, and natural rightsmandatory in schools, the people would reject the leftists politicians that trample those rights. Major trouble areas of the bill:
State-wide registry of all currently owned “Assault Weapons”
Ban on sales of “Assault Weapons”
Ban on sale and possession of all (long gun and hand gun) magazines holding more than 10 rounds
Raise the age for FOID eligibility to 21
Firearm Restraining Orders extend from the current 6 to 12 months
This bill has an immediate effective date, as soon as the Governor signs it.
Possession of all 10+ round magazines is illegal. Manufacture, possession, delivery, sale, and purchase of assault weapons (p. 53-65) is illegal. Only weapons personally owned before the effective date are exempt and must be registered with the State Police 300 days after the Governor signs this legislation. Hello Registry! And you must pay $25 to register your “assault rifles.” This includes all pistols with threaded barrels.
I would think this tramples the recent Bruen ruling, so more court fights are coming. Again, the Left is not going to stop, ever.

A 23-year-old woman with a concealed-carry permit defended herself against four armed men who attempted to carjack her last week on the South Side of Chicago. [SNIP]
When one of the men attempted to open her car door while holding a gun, the woman shot the would-be carjacker in the head before running away from the car.
The three ran and left their buddy there. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

There is a very fact we all need to accept. An inescapable fact. The fact is that Mike Pence is about selling books right now. And his remarks about Trump, or Jan. 6 are about selling books.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, in Chicago on Monday, threw some jabs at former President Donald Trump — a potential 2024 rival — and said he should apologize for meeting with a white nationalist and antisemite.
“President Trump was wrong to give a white nationalist, an antisemite and a Holocaust denier, a seat at the table and I think he should apologize for it,” Pence told NewsNation on Monday.
The reference was to Trump’s dinner at his Mar-a-Largo estate in Florida with the rapper formerly known as Kanye West and Nick Fuentes, the west suburban Chicagoan who is building a movement around his antisemitic and white supremacist views.
Pence, at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, was asked by Ivo Daalder, the group’s president, if he would back Trump — who already declared his 2024 bid — should he become the GOP nominee. Pence said there were “better people” for the job.
Frankly, of utmost importance is NOT electing President Mumbles again, or another Democrat that will continue degrading and destroying our nation at every turn. THAT should be a bigger priority than selling books, or getting positive media attention.
I do not fault Pence for saying Trump should not have had dinner with Nick Fuentes. If I were Trump, frankly, I would have met Fuentes at the gate and told him to leave, and take Kanye with him. But Pence is selling a book, and thinking of launching a presidential run, that will fail. And to be honest, Pence jumping aboard the “Jan 6 was the worst thing ever!” train by playing along with the left and blaming Trump for Jan 6 is just as sickening, if not more.
Yes! Trump was stupid to have any contact with Fuentes. Yes, Trump can be a jerk, and uncouth, and send mean tweets. But, you know what else he can do did for four years? He put the country first! He did great things for the country! Mike Pence know that, and he should ignore the media clap trap and say so!This election in two years is about returning to policies that are pro-America, and pro-Americans, all Americans.
So, spare us your gum flapping, book hawking, and fake outrage Mr. Pence. We have had quite enough of the the left’s fake narrative, and enough of politicians who join the left in spreading it. Like I stated, we KNOW what Trump did that helped the country, and we also KNOW what Team Biden has done TO the country. All Republicans should conduct themselves accordingly. This next election is not about egos, selling books, or being hired as a political analyst, and posturing, or anything except doing what is best for the country.

“Bail reform” led to 34 percent of murder suspects arrested in 2021 being released on bail or their own recognizance.
These statistcs come from criminologist Michael Smith of the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia is responsible for that study. The statistics published as a part of the study include “about 75 percent of offenders charged with weapons law violations, about two-thirds of those arrested for aggravated assault, and 34 percent of those arrested for murder.”
But, of course, lawful gun owners are the REAL problem right Mr. President? Semi-automatic weapons are the problem right? High-capacity magazines are the problem, right?

Four Philadelphia students were injured in a shooting shortly after Overbook High School let out early for the day on Wednesday, a city schools spokesperson said.
Police said a 15-year-old girl was shot in the shoulder and thigh, a 15-year-old girl was shot in the shoulder, a 16-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to the face and a gunshot wound to the hand, and a 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg.
All the injured students were treated at a hospital and are in stable condition.
So, why would Gov. Wolf win awards that mock his obvious lack of common sense from me? Observe his statement regarding this shooting.
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf released a statement shortly after the four students were shot.
“I’m so tired of the lack of action, the innocent lives lost and Pennsylvanians hurt because we can’t come together to pass more commonsense gun laws,” he said.
UGH! What law? Seriously what law? Likely the shooters were underage, the guns likely stolen, shooting people is illegal. What law Gov. Wolf? Law on top of law was broken by those who perpetrated this act. They clearly do not follow laws? The Governor says “common sense gun laws” but apparently possesses not one ounce of common sense. Now if I were Governor Wolf, I would go grab Philly DA Larry Krasner who does not believe in prosecuting those busted with illegal firearms and ask him to do his damn job. But, again, that would actually be “common sense”.
