The order states that no one may engage “in an act of approval/disapproval or attempted act of approval/disapproval, with respect to issues related to abortion services, by any means,” including, but “not limited to graphic, verbal or written means, prayer or counselling.”
BCP Council identified “holding rosaries,” “praying, sometimes while kneeling” and “sprinkling ‘holy water’ on the pavement outside the clinic,” as objectionable acts.
Dave Brennan, executive director of the pro-life group Brephos, notes that “harassment and intimidation are already offences.” But that doesn’t cover rosaries and holy water.
So, to be clear the citizens there are no longer allowed to approve or disapprove of behaviors?That is tyranny

The flip side of the denigration of Columbus and the United States is the claim that the native peoples of America were peaceful and innocent victims of white greed and violence. The fact is that the Indians did the same things to other Indians the white man is accused of having done to the Indians.
They fought over land and hunting grounds. They fought over trade with the British and the French. The Iroquois, who allied themselves with the British during the colonial period, fought a war of extermination against the Huron, who allied themselves with the French. For accounts of the interactions of the Europeans, Americans, and the various Indian tribes, read Francis Parkman and James Axtell.
Atrocities by one tribe against another were a matter of course. Many of the tribes practiced ritual torture. An observer provided an account of Iroquois warriors burning Huron captives. As the flames consumed them, the Huron sang a song. “It was a very sad song,” the observer noted.

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ national profile continues to grow, with the most recent growth spurt being due to his willingness to play hardball and force proponents of sanctuary cities to put their money where their mouths are on illegal immigration.
Well, when DeSantis started doing this, he wasn’t counting on MSNBC host, super sleuth, and all-around genius Mehdi Hasan getting involved. But Mehdi Hasan got involved. Oh, you’d better believe he got involved. He dug up a bombshell that should not only stop DeSantis’ re-election campaign in its tracks, but should put an end to DeSantis’ suspected political ambitions.

The Other McCain is a talented writer, and a good journalist, and blogger. I enjoy reading his writings, and, generally, share his ideological views. Like me, he is a student of history, and knows a great deal about the Civil War War Between the States. And he is unafraid of saying what needs to be said because TRUTH MATTERS!So, each morning, his blog is my first read, OK, usually my first read, to be entirely honest. So, it was this morning, and it was there I found the story referenced above.
Louis Wolfe Gilbert emigrated to the United States as a boy and became “one of the most prolific lyricists of Tin Pan Alley.” He started out as a singer on Coney Island, eventually settled in Hollywood, where he helped popularize Cuban rumba music and “was an innovator in his field, having been one of the first songwriters to begin publishing and promoting a catalog of his own works.” He twice served as director of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Known to friends as “Wolfie,” Gilbert had his breakthrough success in 1912, when he wrote the lyrics for a tune composed by ragtime pianist Lewis Muir.
So, why am I sharing this story with you? Well, it is fascinating of course, and, again, I love history, so…. But the actual reason is that some day, this story will be read by some malcontented leftist and they will become outrageously outraged!
They will seek to cancel this man, and his biography. Because, Louis Wolfe Gilbert, will be deemed unfit. And his story as well. His life’s work? Erased! You see, being a lyricist, Gilbert wrote lyrics. And some of his lyrics, well, they do not match “modern” moral codes, so he must be canceled! When I was a teenage trombonist in the Douglas County (Ga.) High School Marching Tiger Band, “Waiting on the Robert E. Lee” was one of the songs we played, and it never would have occurred to me that this song was co-written by a Jewish immigrant from Ukraine who almost certainly had never been to “old Alabammy,” and yet wrote what became one of the greatest hits of its age, comparable in popularity to “Alexander’s Ragtime Band.” From the 1941 musical film Babes on Broadway, here’s a version by Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney:

She is the head coach of the University of South Carolina women’s basketball team. She canceledupcoming games against BYU because of accusations that a BYU fan yelled racist slurs at Black players on Duke’s volleyball squad. However, since her decision, those accusations have been shown to be, most likely, completely false. So, she has told BYU that she would like to reschedule the games. Right? Right?……
WRONG! In fact, she has doubled down on her fake outrage!
A college women’s basketball coach who fell for a hoax about a black volleyball player being called the “N-word” and canceled two games against Brigham Young University as a result does not regret her decision.
“I continue to stand by my position,” University of South Carolina’s Dawn Staley said, according to a media statement sent to The College Fix by the university’s women’s basketball contact Diana Koval.
Staley said she had “vetted” the accusations from Duke’s Rachel Richardson that the player had been called the “N-word” in August during a game against BYU and as a result canceled games in 2022 and 2023 against the university.

Senator Ted Cruz introduced a school safety bill, and it likely would have helped, but, Senator Chris Murphy got his panties in a bunch because the bill did not contain gun control, soooo
Yet because it’s not gun control, anti-gun Sen. Chris Murphy was never going to be a fan.
Two bills designed to improve school safety by increasing police force presence, locking and alarm systems, and mental health resources were blocked on Wednesday when Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy objected to the legislation.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) presented his Securing our Schools Act of 2022 and the Protect our Schools Act for unanimous consent. Together, the bills worked to fund and improve school safety for public, charter, and private schools. On top of improving school security, the legislation would have notably funded 15,000 new mental-health professionals in schools.
Cruz said when introducing the bills that it would be “the most significant school safety bill ever passed,” but an objection from the Connecticut senator – who styles himself as a leading gun control advocate – killed both bills.
“This isn’t real. This is a tv show. This is clickbait. This is theater. This isn’t an actual attempt to pass legislation,” Murphy said, voicing his objection from the Senate floor.

The truth is that even if you support gun control, the idea of improving school security and providing a load of new mental health professionals in our schools should be something we could find common ground on. Oh, I get that someone like Murphy would never be satisfied with just that, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t pass something we should all be able to agree on.
Meanwhile, Murphy will blast folks like you and me because we refuse to compromise on gun control, but he’s willing to ignore all of the good Cruz’s bill could have potentially done because it’s not a gun ban.
Terrible, Senator Murphy does not belong in the Senate, frankly, I doubt he could handle shoveling camel dung at the zoo.
