DeSantis requests grand jury probe over vaccines

Eager to see what they find

DeSantis said he expects the grand jury will bring “legal accountability for those who committed misconduct.” The governor has previously raised concerns about side effects from mRNA COVID vaccines and has railed against vaccination requirements by some employers.

He also said the state will create a Public Health Integrity Committee to “offer critical assessment” of recommendations and policies from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration and other organizations. That committee is expected to include several national health figures who have been outspoken against the use of lockdown policies and the need for COVID-19 vaccines.

Hopefully some good comes out of it

A paraplegic former member of the Canadian military shocked MPs on Thursday by testifying that the Department of Veterans Affairs offered her, in writing, the opportunity for a medically assisted death — and even offered to provide the equipment.

Retired corporal Christine Gauthier, who competed for Canada at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics and the Invictus Games that same year, spoke before the House of Commons veterans committee and agreed to provide a copy of the letter.

“With respect to me, I have a letter in my file, because I had to face that as well,” said Gauthier, referring to the debate about veterans being offered the option of medical assistance in dying (MAID).

“I have a letter saying that if you’re so desperate, madam, we can offer you MAID, medical assistance in dying,” said Gauthier who first injured her back in a training accident in 1989.

The Cult of Gun Control ARE coming for you AR-15’s your magazines if they hold more than ten rounds, Bearing Arms has the story

A couple of days ago we reported the looming threat of an “assault weapons” and magazine ban in Illinois, where Democrats are planning on taking full advantage of a lowered threshold for legislative passage in the upcoming lame-duck session and using their overwhelming majority to jam through the bans over the objections of Republicans and even some downstate Democrats.

Here is the deal…….

As Eldridge details in a recent post on Maxon’s website, the particulars of HB 5855 “should horrify any gun owner.”

Major trouble areas of the bill: 

  • State-wide registry of all currently owned “Assault Weapons”
  • Ban on sales of “Assault Weapons”
  • Ban on sale and possession of all (long gun and hand gun) magazines holding more than 10 rounds
  • Raise the age for FOID eligibility to 21
  • Firearm Restraining Orders extend from the current 6 to 12 months

This bill has an immediate effective date, as soon as the Governor signs it. 

Possession of all 10+ round magazines is illegal. Manufacture, possession, delivery, sale, and purchase of assault weapons (p. 53-65) is illegal. Only weapons personally owned before the effective date are exempt and must be registered with the State Police 300 days after the Governor signs this legislation. Hello Registry! And you must pay $25 to register your “assault rifles.” This includes all pistols with threaded barrels.

I would think this tramples the recent Bruen ruling, so more court fights are coming. Again, the Left is not going to stop, ever.

An Ethics App at Clemson for students to “report” each other…..

College Fix has the story

Students at Clemson University can now anonymously report real or perceived misconduct by peers, faculty or staff with a single text.

The public, South Carolina-based institution recently announced it would become the first university to offer campus-wide the “RealResponse platform,” described as an “anonymous ethics reporting app” and a way to make the school “safe,” officials stated in a mid-October news release. 

The Clemson Athletics Department has used it since 2016, and now it is being expanded to everyone; Clemson students, faculty and staff can use the system to anonymously text administration reports of “misconduct and integrity issues.”

“Students, faculty and staff can now send anonymous text tips, including photos and videos,” the university stated in the news release. “Activity on the platform is monitored by Clemson’s Office of Internal Auditing and the Office of University Compliance and Ethics.”

Some students expressed concern.

Some students expressed concerns? Some? In a sane society that would read the vast majority of students…….But, that would be a sane society, and tragically that is no longer a sane society.

Go read it all, this is not good not at all. Think how this empowers the “woke” faculty and students to target anyone behaving in a manner these Karen starter kits do not approve of.

Law severely restricting the rights of Foster parents may be overturned

There are restrictions on our Second Amendment right. Many of those restrictions amount to straight up infringement. In order to infringe on something, the threshold is actually very low. Illinois is not known for being a state all that friendly to gun owners. They have and continue to obstruct the law-abiding from exercising their Constitutional right. A peculiar case from 2018 out of the Prairie State was appealed to the Seventh Circuit in early 2022. The case is Miller v. Smith and involves the Millers being prohibited from keeping and bearing arms at their property because they are licensed foster caregivers. Recently the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), who’s suing on behalf of the Millers, filed their reply brief in the appeal. The SAF is suing alongside the Illinois State Rifle Association and Illinois Carry.

Here is what the law does

The law in Illinois is overreaching and bans the possession of firearms at multiple locations, including licensed daycare and foster care properties. Per the opinion from Illinois Central District Court of Springfield, the following regulation was cited:

DCFS has also promulgated the following rule regarding firearms in foster family homes

(o) Any and all firearms and ammunition shall be stored and locked up separately at all times and kept in places inaccessible to children. No firearms possessed in violation of a State or federal law or a local government ordinance shall be present in the home at any time. Loaded guns shall not be kept in a foster home unless required by law enforcement officers and in accordance with their law enforcement agency’s safety procedures.

In other words, the guns should be stored in such a manner as to render them useless in many situations where quick access to hem is crucial. Go read the whole piece at Bearing Arms

Georgia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams denied she lost her last bout against Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in 2018. She’s trying again and there’s no denying her gun control agenda would be a disaster for Georgians’ Second Amendment rights.

Abrams’ antigun platform isn’t the only problem. Her Second Amendment hypocrisy is what should have Georgians hopping mad.

Abrams has spent more than $1.2 million on private armed security all while calling for Georgians to give up their rights to protect themselves.

For Me, Not For Thee

Abrams’ anti-Second Amendment platform is well known. She spent a decade in the Georgia state legislature, including six years as Democratic minority leader, where she championed gun control. She introduced gun confiscation legislation deemed “some of the strictest gun regulation in the nation.”

Typical Statist, rules for the common folks, but the elite? Oh no!

Why Madison and our Constitution are so very special

A J Rice has a very good piece about how Montpelier, the home of James Madison, Father of our Constitution and fourth president, has been transformed into a tool of Marxist propaganda

At Montpelier, the home of James Madison, a massive political reeducation effort financed by leftist billionaire David Rubenstein has made it “All About Slavery, All of the Time.” Madison’s role as the key architect of the Constitution and defender of its provisions in the Federalist Papers is given little attention.

The race hustlers on the board in charge of the fourth president’s home have proposed a national slavery monument on the foundings father’s plantation. 

His home serves as the housing for what amounts to a “one-hour Critical Race Theory disguised as a tour,” said one disappointed visitor. “I was kind of thinking we’d be hearing more about the Constitution,” said another. “But everything here is about slavery.”

AH yes, the wonders of Critical Race Theory, funded by reprobates like David Rubenstein teaches that America, its founding, its founders, and its history are nothing but WHITE SUPREMACY! Of course this is a fallacious position for the left to take, but Marxism must feed its propaganda machine.

AJ Rice, writes a piece that presents an argument that paints our Constitution in real terms. No Marxist spin, no race baiting, none of that. Rice makes the very real point that the Constitution, and people like Madison are, TODAY, a beacon that still draws freedom seekers.

It is the reason why refugees from Ethiopia and Uganda and the “Democratic” Republic of the Congo come to this country and why few, if any, American blacks have any interest in relocating to places like Ethiopia and Uganda and the “Democratic” Republic of the Congo—where everyone is a de facto slave. Because in those countries the government is unrestrained. There is no Constitution worthy of the name. Only the arbitrary authority of the ruling junta or Maximum Leader—though the latter is now often referred to as “president,” a term used by the founders to signify an entirely different kind of office.

The U.S. Constitution was itself not only entirely different, it was unprecedented. For the first time in history, the rights of the people in relation to the government were codified. Was it perfect? Of course not. But it contained within it the mechanism of continuous, orderly improvement—exactly as Madison intended. That is a story of far deeper, more profound significance than the fact that Madison owned slaves. The descendants of James Madison should tell the country you’re welcome. 

BRAVO SIR! Eloquently spoken, and 100% correct! I have long argued that our Founders understood that the faults of the late 18-the Century could, and yes would be addressed with, as Rice writes, mechanism of continuous, orderly improvement by future generations. And, as any honest person will attest, that IS what happened.

The Left can offer no refutation to that. All they can offer is the absurd claims that there have been no positive changes in America. They continue to lie about our history, and our present for that matter. The “faults in America” they rant about are no more, but, improving America was never their aim. Erasing it, and erasing its founders, heroes, iconic figures, economic system is, and always has been the true goal. The reason they have such a goal is simple.

The Left loathes history’s Madison’s, Franklin’s, Henry’s Jefferson’s and Washington’s. The left does not believe what these men believed. The left’s idols have different names, and are, in fact, the polar opposites of our founders. Their icons are, Engels, Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, and Che.

Ted Cruz speaks truth, useless media hardest hit

Oh no! Senator Ted Cruz, Texas, has gone and spoken common sense, and the left is LIKE TRIGGERED! Tom Knighton is likely laughing at that

However, the good senator is under fire for saying something that is actually pretty true.

Newsweek, for example, titled its story on it: “Ted Cruz Says Violence Is ‘Only’ Solution to Violence, Defends AR-15s”

What did Cruz say that was so horrible? Well…

Reiterating his stance against gun control, Republican Senator Ted Cruz said that the “only” solution to violence is violence.

In support of the weapon, Cruz cited the shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, in 2017, the deadliest in the state’s history. Nearby resident Stephen Willeford responded to the incident with his own rifle and is credited with helping end the incident which killed 26 people and an unborn child.

“The weapon that Stephen used to stop that was an AR-15,” Cruz said.

The conversation around gun control in the U.S. was reignited in May when an 18-year-old man entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and opened fire with an AR-15, killing 21 students and staff members, and himself. Cruz was among the Republicans to call for enhanced security at schools in response to the incident, including armed guards and fewer entrances.

Of course, some brain numbed member of the Cult of Gun Control had to dig into the Pit of Eternal Leftist Idiocy and offer this retort: “violence doesn’t solve violence’ To which Cruz responded “It actually is the only thing that does.”

Senator Cruz is correct. Evil people do not stop because we offer them flowers or candy do they? They do evil until they are stopped, and yes it is some form of violence that generally stops them. The cold fact is this. Most people who believe that non-violence is the answer are, for some reason, more upset at good guys stopping violent criminals than at criminals harming others.

Some may think those words are harsh, but consider the man who took out the would be shooter recently at Greenwood Park Mall in Indiana. Recall how some of the leading voices for gun control belittled what he did in saving lives. They were insistent on accusing the hero of breaking laws by carrying a sidearm. Some even assured us that his act was not heroic. Moral Back Ass Wardsness anyone?

Tom Knighton sums it up very well

The truth is that violence isn’t inherently evil or vile. The Holocaust wasn’t ended due to diplomacy. It ended because we shot enough Nazis to liberate the camps. It ended because we visited sufficient violence to end it.

On a more local scale and in more recent history, the shooting at Greenwood Park Mall didn’t end because a private citizen talked nicely to the shooter. It ended because a private citizen shot the SOB before he could kill anyone else.

Some don’t like to hear it, but violence solves plenty.

A Woman of Color like New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is blessed with intersectional oppression. That’s why she deserves to travel luxuriantly while her city wallows in poverty. Bigots want her to return to the city the small fortune she has spent upgrading her plane tickets to first class or business class, but like Rosa Parks, she sits firm:

Mayor LaToya Cantrell told local reporters Thursday she won’t fork over the exorbitant fees she charged for the upgraded tickets, including an $18,000 first-class trip to France over the summer.

Her first class flights cost up to nine times as much as the coach seat her aide has to settle for.

Since January 2021, Cantrell has charged the city of New Orleans $29,000 to travel first- or business-class instead of coach, The Times-Picayune/The New Orleans Advocate reported.

Sounds really bad right? WRONG YOU BIGOTS! She is OWED you MOFOS!

According to the city’s travel policy, municipal workers have to take the cheapest flight or pay back the difference. But Cantrell knows it would be both racist and sexist to apply this policy to someone who is intersectionally oppressed. She proclaims that she must travel first class at taxpayer expense for her safety:

“Anyone who wants to question how I protect myself just doesn’t understand the world Black women walk in.”

Well, I do not know about Black women who actually work, but entitled greedy political hacks seem to be pretty privileged, especially for the victims they claim to be
