MORNING REPORT
Good morning, kids. If there is one overarching theme or characteristic to the horrifying state of the nation and the world in general, arguably it’s got to be the attempt at every level to silence any and all voices of dissent and opposition to those who have brought us to said state. A number of stories today (and every day, really) serve to underscore this proposition. First, I’ve heard of bombing when you tell a joke. But SWAT-ing?
Whatever one may think of the COVID-19 situation, one thing that cannot be denied is that it pushed America to its breaking point. Between the lockdowns, the closures, the runs on stores, the increase in substance abuse, and the online predation of children, and the the impromptu Salem Witch Trials of people seen without socially acceptable masks, it was a rough time in America. And plenty of people tried to inject a little levity into the situation to take the edge off, including Alexandria, Louisiana, resident Waylon Bailey.
The Washington Post reports that in March 2020, Bailey posted the following to his Facebook page:

Bailey was making a joke. But the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office was not laughing. A few hours later, a SWAT team showed up at Bailey’s home without a warrant but with bulletproof vests and brandishing weapons. Bailey was arrested for making a terroristic threat. According to court documents, as Bailey was handcuffed one of the deputies stated, “…next thing [you] put on Facebook should be not to f*ck with the police.” The other officers laughed. . .
. . . It was also noted that Bailey’s post was in response to another comical post and contained emojis.
‘ALL CARS ARE BAD’: Pete Buttigieg’s Equity Advisers Want You To Stop Driving
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is appointing a group of “leading experts” to advise him on “transportation equity,” including several who argue that cars cause climate change and promote racism and therefore should be phased out.
Buttigieg earlier this month appointed 24 new members to his Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity, an Obama-era body that Buttigieg is reviving after the Trump administration scrapped it. Included on the committee is Andrea Marpillero-Colomina, a “spatial policy scholar” who says “ALL CARS ARE BAD” given that they cause “a myriad of environmental issues and conditions.” Another Buttigieg appointee, self-described “transportation nerd” Veronica Davis, argued in an August essay that cars perpetuate “systemic racism” and are therefore “the problem” in America’s transportation system.
Secretary Cardona Is Dared To Read “Banned” Books On Camera
Under Biden administration Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, it isn’t about the kids actually learning and attempting to recover what was lost during lockdowns. It’s about the virtue signaling.
Which leads us back to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. Is he focused on school test scores dropping and gains being wiped out? Nope. Is he focused on the shocking state of learning in places like Baltimore? Nope. Is he focused on how school attendance has dropped for enrolled students? Nope. Secretary Cardona is busy virtue signaling on Twitter/X and getting ratioed into the ground.
California hates your children
Last week, California attorney general Rob Bonta sued a Southern California school district for requiring parental notification when a child experiences gender confusion by requesting to be called a name or a pronoun that does not match his biological sex.
“For far too many transgender and gender nonconforming youth, school serves as their only safe haven,” Rob Bonta wrote on X (formerly Twitter). According to the California attorney general, parental authority is life-threatening to “far too many children,” and he sees “protecting” children from their parents as one of the missions a school should serve. Democrats now consider parents “intruders” and schools “the refuge” where your children should seek safety from you. Liberals encourage young and impressionable children to turn away from the safest place available to most kids — their home — and put their trust in people who could not care less.
How do we know that the schools don’t care? Because for many months, California kept its schools closed for the virus that posed no danger to children. Teachers’ unions were the main driver behind school closures, insisting that kids were “endangering teachers’ lives.” For many months, teachers’ unions cared very little about “the trauma” that “gender-nonconforming” students faced from “abusers,” also known as loving parents who put their lives on hold because of school closures. Teachers’ unions also didn’t care about learning loss and emotional distress that school closures had on children — especially the most vulnerable ones who did not have an involved parent in the home. It is these parents, who dutifully guided their kids through brutal COVID lockdowns, who, the liberals tell us, are “dangerous” to their own kids. According to A.G. Bonta, that pink-haired “gender-nonconforming” teacher who just emerged from his basement after a years-long vacation is now “the brave hero” who has your child’s best interest at heart. He is the only thing standing between you and your kid’s impending suicide.

When radical leftwing city officials push insane, impossible policies, are they merely engaging in virtue signaling, hope to profit off graft for the issue, or want to inflict as much pain on ordinary Americans as possible?
That’s the question to ask about Houston and Austin signing on to an agenda to eliminate meat and dairy consumption by 2030.
Two Texas cities are participating in an emissions-cutting program that seeks to end meat and dairy consumption.
According to the organization, “C40 is a global network of nearly 100 mayors of the world’s leading cities that are united in action to confront the climate crisis.”
Although largely funded by Democrat billionaire Michael Bloomberg, C40 has other donors including FedEx, Google, and the Clinton Foundation.
Both Austin and Houston are listed as participating cities, with “membership operat[ing] on performance-based requirements, not on fees.”
