Good morning, kids. Unless you have been living in a cave for the past several years or have the brain function of a cup of spoiled yogurt, i.e. John Fetterman, you are fully aware that our nation and really the entire world is in complete turmoil. Not merely the usual vicissitudes of localized wars, political and economic swings, and other events that regardless of their seriousness had no impact on the seeming trajectory of history since the end of World War 2. Or what we had imagined that trajectory was.
The possible exception to that was 9/11. As the “war on terror” (how I loathe that phrase) progressed and the years wore on, far too many of us tried to put things behind us and get back to some semblance of “normalcy.” Turns out we were whistling past the graveyard. In the cold light of day, a return to that normalcy was not to be. The coming of Trump, that is, the fluke that was the coming of Trump, and even more, the reaction to his coming by truly malign forces, have brought us to this point. It is a fin du siècle, and one of the most significant turning points in history.
What comes next is unknown. The way things are shaping up, the existential threat to our personal freedom and that of future generations, along with international actors and movements, leaves the situation very much in doubt. Still in the darkest moments, we must not lose sight of the fact that leaders and even random individuals are always present, who can change the dynamic, and the course of history.

Teacher Heckles Students for Opposing Pride
A Canadian journalist obtained a 15 minute recording of a teacher at Ontario’s Northwood Public School berating her Muslim students for having skipped the beginning of the school’s annual Pride Month celebration.
The teacher called the students’ abstention an “incredible show of hatred” that she was “incredibly disgusting to have witnessed.” The “whole staff,” the board of education, and the superintendent were, she said, disappointed in their refusal to participate. Northwood’s principal later denied that the teacher’s views reflected the school’s.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is threatening to fine the Temecula Valley Unified School District $1.5 million for rejecting a social studies textbook that mentions Harvey Milk, the gay San Francisco supervisor slain in 1978.
“Why even mention a pedophile?” wondered Temecula school board member Joseph Komrosky.
“An offensive statement from an ignorant person,” tweeted Gov. Newsom.
Komrosky, a former U.S. Army Ranger, earned a PhD in philosophy from Claremont Graduate University and teaches logic at Mount San Antonio College. The Temecula board member also worked in nuclear medicine, primarily positive emission tomography (PET/CT), for more than 20 years.

The difference between the Republican ballot operation and that of the leftists that is the leftists manufacture ballots, whereas Republicans only collect them.
Elections are for big stakes. Pretty much everything is political, and thus, who controls the Legislature gets the goodies.
If you are a government pro, you live or die according to whether your team is in power. You do what the pros do — you make sure you control your food source.
The laughable RNC “out-ballot-harvest the left” plan is one any sentient adult knows cannot work. That of course leaves out Republican state operatives, for whom hope exceeds common sense.

Interstate Road Rage Ends With Self-Defense Shooting
A northern Kentucky man will not face any charges after officials ruled he was acting in self-defense when he shot and killed a man during an altercation on a busy interstate last Friday.
Joshua Taylor was on his way home from work when he crossed paths with John Patrick Abell, who was driving home after a day of fishing. Witnesses describe Abell driving aggressively, and eventually Taylor’s car and Abell’s SUV collided, sending Abell’s vehicle spinning until it came to a stop near an on ramp.
Taylor quickly got on the phone with 911 to report that he’d been involved in a wreck with another driver, and as he was on the phone with dispatchers, he described the driver approaching his own vehicle with a rifle in his hand. Dispatchers heard a brief argument between the two men before shots rang out.
