What is it with CNN employees keeping their pants on….

Nobody watches CNN anymore. The network is now permanently mired in third place in cable news ratings, but instead of trying to produce better programming, it seems everybody at CNN is too busy trying to get into the pants of their co-workers, which may be part of the reason why their ratings are so bad:

Reports released Wednesday suggest that Jake Tapper’s executive producer, Federico Quadrani, was fired in early February for an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate.
Sources claimed that Quadrani was released from his position for “hooking up with” a senior producer at the network, PageSix reported. Apparently news of the alleged relationship and firing is spreading rapidly throughout CNN, a source told the PageSix, warning that “it’s going to get out.”

It is Hard to Defend Bad Law- Magazine Capacity Bans in California

The State’s lawyers submitted the bad news on California’s magazine ban. Both sides had to submit briefs to the federal district court last Friday. The California Attorney General didn’t have much to work with given that the firearm magazine capacity ban was so egregious. The state’s lawyers pulled out every spurious argument they could grab as they scrambled to justify their law.

  • They claimed that a magazine is not a firearm and therefore not protected by the second amendment. The US supreme court disagreed and ruled that contemporary semi-automatic handguns are covered by second amendment protections.
  • The state claimed that they are merely regulating firearms.. when the supreme court said that the government can not ban a class of firearms in common use. If the magazine ban is such a trivial restriction, then why are law enforcement officers exempt?

Climate Doom Means People Can’t Fall In Love Or Something

This is a new one. Who says cults are moribund and can’t come up with new stuff. The sad part is that major news outlets, in this case, the LA Times, publish this cult crap

When climate change looms, how are you supposed to fall in love?

GOP Primary Balloon: Scarborough Pumps Up Sununu, Tries To Pop DeSantis

For years now, Donald Trump has been the man Joe Scarborough most loves to hate. But there’s another Republican who has emerged as a close second among people Scarborough despises: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. NewsBusters has noted Scarborough’s disdain for DeSantis a number of times (here and here). Scarborough was back at his diss-DeSantis shtick on Wednesday’s Morning Joe.

Handicapping the GOP primary field, Scarborough predicted that DeSantis’ campaign “is going to end very badly . . . It’s going to start as high as a Chinese balloon over Montana, and by the time it gets to South Carolina, they’re going to be looking for wreckage.”

Destroy Merit, Destroy Lives

Pretty much anyone paying attention knows about the death of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the Memphis Police. I addressed that case here.

With the inevitable, ritual involvement/benediction of race-hustling attorney Benjamin Crump, Nichols has passed into holy, social justice martyrdom. Fewer, I’m sure, are aware of the dissolution of the Baltimore public school system. And fewer still understand both are closely related.

How is it possible the beating death of a man by police in Tennessee and the utter failure of 23 schools—actually, pretty much all of them–in Maryland to teach a single student how to do math are related? Simple: both disasters are driven by a woke insistence on eliminating merit. Allow me please, to explain. We begin with this from The New York Post:

At least two out of five Memphis police officers charged with murder in the fatal beatdown of Tyre Nichols joined the force after the department relaxed its hiring requirements.

Tadarrius Bean and Demetrius Haley both joined the Memphis Police Department in Aug. 2020, NBC News reported, more than two years after the department dramatically loosened the education qualifications to become an officer.
